Default Wheel repair or new wheel?

Hi Guys,

Without going into it because I am still furious I have a rim with about 10cm scratch just near the tyre. Does anyone have any wheel repairers that they recommend?

Alternatively anyone know how much an 18" Track wheel is or have one spare they want to sell?

Thanks
Mike

Mike, I have on two occasions had a rim of my Clubbie fixed by a mate of mine who owns a spray shop. Im sure any reputable shop should be able to fix it for you.

Also I have a full set of track rims, not sure i want to sell one on its own though?

Just thought I would give everyone an update so if you are ever in the same situation you have some ideas.

Firstly dont speak to Nissan about this! They want $1500 per rim for the 18" Track wheels.

I spoke to a spray shop in Artarmon today and they can fix this up for sure. They are working on getting a colour code for the wheels or at least a colour recipe that they should give me. $200 they said I wont tell the difference.

Giving it to them to sort out whilst I am overseas next week.

I feel for you my friend. I curbed one of my rear rims, just where the tire meets the rim, trying so hard to park out of harms way. Anyhow, my dealer told me they CANNOT repair a Track rim and a new one would cost me OVER $1500 (US Dollars). However, they also advised me of a local place that sent my rim off to be repaired. It took almost 2 weeks to get it back but only cost $125 and is honestly "as new" perfect. Get it repaired.

Our Track rims are just the standard 18" wheel, not the Rays. $1500 is way too much for 1 wheel. They've got no idea. I can get a 19" TE37 for just under $1000

Apsilon, my point exactly.

I also asked them to explain why I can get the Rays wheels cheaper but no comment. I can get a whole range of 19s for cheaper than the Nissan rim!

Anyway it will get fixed.

Mike

Sorry to heard about your rim damage, I had the same happen two weeks ago with my front kerb wheel it was a 18" Forged Rays wheel I was so pissed off, anyway my dealer have a set (4) of the 18" Std Track wheels for $ 1800 (if anyone is interested PM me), I'm doing the same getting my local panel shop to repair and repray it $220.0 he's having to track down the paint code and fu#@ing Nissan have no idea what it is, they would have to be the worst car company I have ever come across to date and every one knocks Holden here. I've had owned 3 HSV's and they were fantastic to deal with plus the dealership I bought them from.

Anyway I hope it all works out all ok for you.

Doh! Soz guys i should have mentioned that i had my rim resprayed 1 week into ownership (fkn volvo driver )!

Ring up RAFFI at Macarty and Norris on 02 9809 4985, they have done my silver 350z and would bend over backwards for any other 350z owner. They are based in West Ryde btw!

As I have mentioned on another thread I have a brand new set of track rims I would love to get rid of.

Im not after anywhere near the $1500 each quoted by Nissan. I would be happy if I got enough to get the Borla exhaust and perhaps headers!

as always

I've had my rims polished. If you happen to scratch it just polish and it looks just fine....

Also the polished look is really good!
