I was just wondering if anyone else if having a problem with the seats.

Every time I drive for long distances I really stuggle with pain in my lower back. There seems to be absolutely no support there and Ive fiddled with all the adjustments that are in the seats (not there's much anyway).

Has anyone, or is anyone thinking about changing the seats for something with more adjustment and lumbar supports.

Any suggestions would be most humbly appreciated.

I had the same problem when I first got the car.

I know that this may sound funny but I increased the pressure in the tyres. I found the car to be very heavy in the steering, which I found to be affecting my back. By increasing the PSI in the tyres the car was lighter to steer and hence stopped my back from hurting.

Another idea might be to get the current seat modified. I know that there is a guy in Melbourne who adds extra padding to the seats and works on some high class cars.

In relation to replacing the seats, sorry but I have no idea. I think that there were some threads in other parts of the forum so you might want to try a search.

I agree with Zdster. Look at having lumbar support added to the stock seats rather than complete replacements. You can get supports that are adjustable with a hand pump that might be ideal.

Personally I don't have a problem although I do start to get a bit sore after several hours in the seat but that's to be expected to some extent.

 

One of the things that I like most about the Z is the seats. I've always felt that they have good support.

I'm 6'0", 210 pounds, and my wife is 5'5", 115 pounds. She has a bad back and neither one of us have any issues with the support of the seats.

Of course, neither of us have ever been behind the wheel for any trips longer than about 2 1/2 hours, so maybe it would be worse for really long trips.

 

I'm with you harryw. I find them uncomfortable. Even though the seats in my WRX were not made well they certainly felt more comfortable and secure.

 

I would have to agreed also, I find the seat a bit too narrow in the back support area plus no lumber support and after about 2 hrs in them my butt also starts to go numb I think there designed for the smaller person I'm 6'1" 95Kg. I think I will replace them with Recaro's or maybe Bride, I'll miss the seat heaters thou.
