Brake dust is really annoying me!!
Hey guys, what are you guys doing about the brake dust?
I wash the car and wheels, and a few days later the wheels are black again.
Black hands and fingernails for days after washing too!!
Any advice welcomed

There are two remedies.
1. Dont use the brakes! You shouldnt need to on a blue one (j/k)
2. Change the pads. I think, even with the best pads you can get you are still going to get some dust though.
Isnt the brake dust worse in the rain though. I washed mine today and I thought someone had powdercoated the Rays black. They're nice and clean now though, ready for tomorrow's dusting!
As always

Agreed, the dust is incredible. Waxing the wheels will make it easier to wash off but I just use a wheel cleaner instead. I've been tempted to change pads just to reduce the dust.
Oh and Harry we have to use the brakes a lot becuase it takes a lot of stopping from the high speeds these blue ones get up to.

Easy.....buy some EBC GreenStuff pads. They are much better pads than the standard **** that comes with the car and they are claimed to be dust free.
Well bullocks to that I thought, but then I tried them in a previous car and damn they were good!

I used EBC Greenstuff on my previous car. They were the dustiest pad I'd ever seen, certainly not dust free as claimed. I've been told the quality of the EBC stuff varies greatly. One set can be good, another rubbish. Doubt I'll give them a second chance.
Used the EBC Green Stuff in my WRX and were the worst pads I ever used. Switched to Endless NA-S and never had problems.
At the moment I'm using the Endless NA-R in the front which are pretty much a race pad but still have very good cold start. The only problem is they squeal like a bus
I would probally suggest the NA-M instead. These pads will set you back around $450 a pair.

I hear pagid also make excellent pads but have never used them myself and don't know if they make them for the 350z. If they fit a R33 they should fit the Z

Thats suprising. Did you fit them on machined rotors?
I used the green stuff on an R33 Skyline, the only thing I found is they faded after hard runs, but then that car would leave the Z standstill.
Hmmm where is that order form for a twin turbo?

Yes I did have the rotors machined first. I even rang the distributers at the time and complained. Thats how upset I was with the pads.
-Machined rotors
-New fluid
-Recent bleed
-Stainless Steel Brake Lines
-Proper break-in
Their answer. Your rotors are contaminated. Get them sandblasted. Funny that after I switched the pads, I had no further problems.

Yeah not good.....
On the street the green was good but I should have used Red Stuff.
Another few people I know used them and seemed to be OK.
Oh well. Pagid and Endless are a whole higher level again!

Any good brake pads will dust. If you want to reduce the dust you might want to try Organic pads. The coefficient of friction for the organic pads are low, but you will increase the life of the pads. If you use a metallic base or carbon base pads, you will have a very high coefficient of friction and reduce life of the pads compaired with the organic base pads.
Bottom line is DO YOU WANT TO BE ABLE TO STOP or HAVE CLEAN WHEELS?

Thanks everyone.
Let me see ......... stop........clean wheels........umm stop.
Please don't laugh at me, but I think I'll wear some rubber gloves to keep the dust off my hands. I meet a lot people through work and I need to look clean.
