K&N filter in OZ
Well the US one could be ordered from any US Nissan parts department. The Mines from any shop that stocks Mines. The only one I know of is in Sydney. Contact Harry @ Hi Octane Racing on 02 9638 4643. I know they have 10 on the way, one of which is mine (no pun intended).
No idea but Harry is pretty good, he won't charge over RRP + costs (usually guess 30%) so that gives you the max price and he'll do under that whenever he can. The only other thing with him is he tends to talk in Yen (he's Japanese) so check your exchange rates.
I think these are 6800 yen from memory so I expect they'll be around the $100 - $110 mark tops.

There is no way they can refuse warrantee due to a drop in filter.
I'd be more worried about replacing the plenum as it may make the car too lean and it would be YOUR fault. Thats why it pays to get the AF done when you dyno.
You then have proof of the AF ratio in your hands.
Also if you have a friendly service tech get him to see on the Consult 2 if the engine is retarding due to a lean AF ratio.
But back onto the filter, as long as it filters equaly or better than stock you are fine.

FYI I baught a Blitz SUS LM drop in filter at autobarn for 79 bucks.
Now thats cheap!
Just check their prices on the official web site to see how ridiculous they can be. K&N seems a bit steep too at $129.

I've done some checking re warrenty and filters. Firstly Nissan certainly CAN refuse warrenty if a sub standard filter is used. It would be up to you to prove the filter met Nissan's standards - warrenty areas specifically are wear and oil consumption in the engine! If you check the fine print on the warrenty conditions you will see that parts that are not of the correct standard can void warrenty. I believe most would meet the standards but I believe some mesh types do not.
You have been warned.

Every time you get a service they're gonna put a new filter in if you put the original in.
If Nisshit ever knocked back a warranty claim because, say, a K&N
filter was installed, then K&N could be joined into an action
against N.
Why the hell does N Aus DENY any knowledge of the tyre
feathering problem?
And the Bose sound quality business?
They wouldn't even shift my tyres as is detailed in the TSB's
"that's an American problem" - what it amounts to is that
their consumer laws are tougher than ours!
NISSHIT !

I haven't had the feathering problem myself but if the TSB is released here then they don't have a choice. Contact Nissan directly rather than a dealer to find out if the TSB applies.
I very much doubt it. Thing is dealers don't want to do any sort of warranty work as they only get paid a certain amount for it from Nissan and even then have to wait for the payment.
Frosty Nissan Oz denies any knowledge of anything...even the car itself!
How many times has the Randwick Nissan Manager told me that I know more about the car than anyone there.... great confidence booster. I think I know sqwat, just what i've read about the problems the yanks have had.
It seems like this is the price we have to pay for dealing with a bunch of loosers like Nissan Oz. The best service I've had was from the people at Goulburn City Motors where i got the car.
I might take it for a service and fit it in with a track day or something. The guys there actualy listen and don't deny you have issues or belittle them. They are also a merc dealer so maybe that explains the different attitude.
I can't believe i have to drive 2.5hrs to get warantee work done!
Would i buy another 350z or GTR (if they bring them in)...YES (the cars rocks)

Would I buy another Zed or the GTR? Almost certainly not. The car doesn't make up for the dealer network IMO. This'll be my first and last Nissan.
