Sourcing 19" Nismo Rays
Who can give me advice as to where to best source a set of 19" Nismo Rays - now available to take a 275 tyre.
Although I don't see a problem, and they quote "for Z33", should I have any concerns re fitting/rubbing etc?
There's a slightly smaller rim for front (245), but I want to use 275 FRONT also to minimise understeer.
Anybody got a comment re this?
Mary's gone now,
So HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I reckon Japanparts is a more direct place for you to source the wheels as they are quite reasonable on the wheel pirces (you can give them a call and can speak ENGLISH with Graham). Just keep in mind that you will need to spend quite a lot for the shipping and the local tax (15% duty and 10% GST) on top of the wheels... I have quite a lot of experiences on buying things from japan already, shipping + tax are always a killer.
I think it will be better off following the setup that Nismo recommands! Otherwise your car's nose will be sitting higher than it is as 275 tyres will give you a lot of thick side walls than 245 on 8.5J wheels.
According to the online wheel/tyre diametre calculations, 245/40 is already slightly larger than 225/45 (for 18"s).... so I don't think you would like to put 275 at the front to mess up the car's setup.
Other than that, I am sure with nismo 19" on the car, it will look really good!!! Cannot wait to see you have those wheels on mate!!! I have not yet seen anyone with those 19" on, even in the pics!
Also... remember to get this part: NISMO WHEEL WRENCH ADAPTER when you get those wheels! You need those to mount the wheels on since they are running smaller diameter nuts provided by Nismo!
cheers,
richie

Thanks Richie.
Have a look at
http://www.350zmotoring.com/forums/Wheels_and_Tire.php
re tyre diameters - I have also researched tyre availability on the web - Falken, Michelin and Toyo list 30's and 35's as available, but LOCAL availability might be a different story.
Maybe 255 fronts might be a compromise?
I did a lot of time both track, hillclimb and gymkhana in Porsche powered stuff and oversteer is the only way for me to go.
I ***** myself when I'm pointing straight ahead in the corner!

FROZTY
WRONG PIC-this is new one - STD WHEELS TRICKED UP

I think it is better off go for 255 instead of 275! And I found out that I gave you a bit of wrong info there.. 245/40 actually has smaller diameter/side wall than 255/45... sorry about it!
Just need to choose your tyres correctly before you purchase them as they aren't cheap in the size that we need for the Zed....
cheers,
richie

Just one comment re same width tyres front and back I saw a thread on the tyre & suspension main forum indicating cars fitted with VDC require the tyres to be of different width ie front smaller than rears or the VDC errors. Note Jason at Performance Nissan now has 19" Nismo LM GT4's.
