Default Daytona Blue filler cap

The filler cap on my Daytona Blue looks to be a slightly different colour. I think it is more the that cap was painted off the car and has a different angle to the paint. Whatever it annoys me - people say "love the car but why is the cap a different colour?) Then they start looking at the other parts....

I might get Nissan to fix it (if they will). Has anyone got the same problem?

I think the filler cap is actually plastic which surprised me, it's really quite flimsy, I hope I never forget to close it properly or one flick from a passing bike and 'snap'. Being plastic would that make a difference to the painted finish and therefore the light reflection making it look a different color? Mine being platinum and lighter in color makes it quite hard to pick any difference.

I'd love to see a brushed aluminium secure version ala the Audi TT, it would match the door handles.

It is plastic. The paint used on plastic parts is different but really they should've done a better job at matching it.

From what I've seen all the DB are the same to some extent. Mine really only stands out on overcast days. If I get a bodykit in the future I'll have the lid repainted at the same time.

I'm with you, Jim. I'd be surprised if the aftermarket industry doesn't come up with something in billet Al.
