Thumbs down Spinners come to Oz

I'd already seen a couple on the roads unfortunately but not they're advertising them on TV so we're bound to see a heap of them soon.

Worst part is they're using a 350Z to advertise them.

If you don't know what I'm talking about they're those hob caps where the centre is on bearings or something so it keeps spinning even when the wheel isn't turbing.

Oh i saw them advertised yesterday and was having a laugh with my fiance. They advertised them on a Lemans Sunset 350Z - why the hell would any sane individual cover their mags with a set of spinners - horrible.

Bahahahahaha... Nobody gives a toss what they do out there.

In this country we torch your car for having one of those... You're lucky to not get clubed to death with a dead wombat if you get caught with that on a Zed.

Perhaps I should move, clubbing them with a dead wombat sounds more like my style.

Theys no F'ing way I would ever buy such a **** thing for my car, it really says something about the person who bought them.

Its up there with chrome plated plastic hub caps!

Its really bad luck they choose 350z to advertise them.

That's basically what they are just with an extra bit isn't it?

FWIW the cars I've actually seen them on was VT(?) Commodore ute and a riced up FTO.

Just did some quick googling and it seems they're aluminium and average around US$1200 for 18" sizes

Are they a complete wheel or do they go over whatever you've got?

They go on whatever you have. Seeing as the ones I saw were only for 18" and up and not many cars have 18" wheels you're up for a set of wheels and rubber as well as these things.

For that sort of money you could have some nice TE37 etc.

Yeah.

I dont see how they would even fit onto a car which has non standard offsets etc.

Imagine putting them over volks, sacrilege!

I just pity everyone with a Leman sunset 350... I just can't look at them in the same light again.

doubt it'll take off here thank God! What a stupid rice mod... At least if they sold something with spikes coming out or had a restractable chain and ball....then i could see some use!

...you guessed it...borred sh!tless!

Im sure there will be a 'special' select group who will get them.

If anyone I know gets them I'll post photos of them being bashed with a dead wombat, if it doesnt make the news.
