A guy out here hity a roo in his Audi TT $3000 for the front light "OUTCH""
I have the aero kit (front and back spoilers) and I went up to around 240kmh and the car was very stable. And in case someone is going to ask, it was on a highway 7:00AM on a weekend, and no one in sight, except a few camels

Usually spoilers are used to generate downforce which helps the car stick while cornering...might not have much noticeable impact on straight line stability.
A rear spoiler which generates enough downforce to help while cornering probably is likely to lighten the front end--not a good thing. Race cars balance the front and rear spoilers and, like flynnibus mentioned they also help help direct air more efficiently around the car.
I remember reading about Porsche owners who added the whale tail to their stock cars...without adding a front dam/spoiler and the front became so light that the car was very unstable at speed. Audi TT supposedly added the rear lip because cars on the autobahn became very unstable at speed.
Air flow underneath a car can provide as much impact on aero efficiency and down force as spoilers. I have changed my exhaust and no longer have the 'aero' plates on the straight pipe or muffler. I wondered whether I removed some of the 'zero' lift. I also took that plastic aero plate under the engine off. Hasn't had a noticeable effect at track days but 120 mph (180 kph) is about as fast as I seem to get.
I'm constantly frightened of banging a roo so I keep the highway speed down.
