I hit the curb once while in my BMW, driving maybe 10-20 kmh, it wipe out my whole front left suspension and tire but only minor bumper scratch, the accident cost me ~$5000

Hmm, perhaps find a quiet back street and give it a try. Remember to check behind you for other cars before slamming on the brakes.

before you do that just make sure the suspension is ok, no broken arms or hanging sway bar, as mine one looked ok from the outside, but looked under its a total mess
I also drove the car to bob jane to have a damaged tire changed, as soon as they saw the damage, they adviced me to hv the car towed to the workshop straight away
Im sure you dont want any more damage than it has now

OK, I've drove home and I had a look underneath. Well, I need more then just a bumper. But suspension is ok it seems to me. I didn't take any pics since I was all black from dirt and I tried to do it as fast as possible.

The things that are demaged are, front bumper, front diffuser is totally shot, and the fibre glass frame in front which holds radiator has it's lower mounts rippied out. The curb just missed the power steering cooler. also some more plastic is broken around those parts, so there's few things to replace.

There's nothing leeking as far as I can tell. So it's not as bad as it could have been.

ottonove, did you try to clame it through insurance or there is no point?

Nuff, sorry about your mishap!

You can still claim the repairs on your insurance, doesn't matter that you were the only one invloved and "at fault". Depending upon your insurance you may lose your no claim bonus.

As always

I could if Im Im insured, but the accident happened 2 days after the policy expired, and I forgot to renew the policy, a very expensive lesson to learn to pay on time

If I had a small crash like this I would pay myself, as I cant afford to have anything against my name. The insurance is only there for the worst case scenario. But my situation is different to most of you.

If you use this "opportunity" to replace with an aftermarket kit then you won't feel so bad.

Well that's what i would do!

nuff.

I know the bar is damaged. Do you have any pics you can email me as depending on the damage I might be interested in buying it of you.

Nuff,
Why dont you get the insurance company to buy you a new bumper when they fix everything, then sell that new stock bumper to Mr Rizk and use that money to buy a new aftermarket front spoiler.

Mr Rizk, which bar are you talking about? The plastic bumper or the aluminium bar?
