Zed is officially for sale
On the off chance that someone here has a friend or relative looking to buy I thought I'd post my car here.
You can see the Carsales ad here. The bit about needing a 4 door is a bit of a white lie. Shhh. I haven't decided what I'm buying yet but that sounds better than "not sporty enough for me".
Car is in immaculate condition (been washed twice and waxed since you saw it Frosty) and well looked after and loved.
If anyone else is looking to sell feel free to post in this thread as well. Direct competition however will be deleted j/k.

Apsilon - I didn't get a reply to my ads re my son's (silver) Z
last month.
Re polish - wax ---- I just bought a Hyundai something-or-other for one of the reps. The paint job is the best i have ever seen - there's not the hint of orange peel.
the finish is like GLASS! Very dissapointing when $70000+ can't get a paint job like a $23000 toy!

I put it in with the price reasonably high compared to what's already there, afterall you can always come down through bargaining but you can't go up. Had two enquiries so far which was a surprise. The real test will be the paper over the weekend. If it gets ridiculous I may not sell but I've already had an offer from one of those enquiries which was tempting so fingers crossed.
I was thinking about the orange peel myself while waxing. It's one of the worst cars I've come across for paint quality which really isn't acceptable given the price.
BTW I've spoken to Mike and I'll be staying on as moderator for the foreseeable future so you'll all have to put up with me for a while yet. Be interesting to see some of these turbo kits hit the streets finally.

I figured I won't be buying anything for a while, I like talking about cars and I still think the Zed is a great car even if it doesn't fulfill my exact needs so I may as well stay around.

Matt, since I got the Z I have always kept an eye on the papers, and FARK, there were a few on Sunday for low 50's!!!
Not sure what you consider "tempting" but I hope you get what you need.
As always

It partially comes down to how much of a hurry you're in to sell. I saw one Touring going for as low as $49k. Fortunately the Tracks generally seem to be going for a couple of grand more. Guess I'll know this weekend.

Car auctions, Enfield Auto Group or something like that. It's end of financial year and there may some bargains to be had, I still need a runabout for when the Zed is gone.

What kind of cars do they have there? Just normal ones.
Theres no reason a run about can't be a great car. Get a Pulsar Gtr-R, $14000, 4WD SR20DET with ITBs and a power rating higher than a 200sx.

Honda's replacement for the NSX is the M14 - looks and goes!
295 kw
0-160 in 9.5
1150 kg
0-100 in 4.3
531 nm
Coming next year.
Or maybe the M12 - lighter, rawer but less power. Here now.
Cost about 2 1/2 Z's.
FARK ! (as someone says - hello tiler!)

Go the M12 Noble... I think thats a car more suited to Matts tastes. Maybe in a few years when the price comes down a bit you can pick one up on ebay.

M14? That's Noble isn't it? Same goes to Noble M12, it's British Company owned car.
Also the next Generation NSX is being scrap into a bin. So there won't be Honda NSX replacement.

The auctions are random but generally they're only common cars. The more exotic stuff have there own auctions. This will all be stuff that dealers want to clear from their books for the year.
I only need something to sit in traffic and go to the shops in so I won't be buying an NSX or similar
I was thinking more along the lines of a Corolla, Camry, Charade, Laser etc. The only requirement is that it be reliable. The less money I spend on it the more I can spend on my new toy when I decide what that's going to be.

Well I hope you at least investigate a fun option. Whats the exact price you want to spend? Im sure you can get a little turbo hatch for that price. The SR20 is perfectly reliable/ bulletproof.

One of the "funnest" cars I've owned was a $500 Suzuki 800 hatch. 3cyl 800cc 2spd auto. That thing copped a hiding, never received any maintenance and cornered far better than it should have. The thing that finally killed it was an oil change, the rings wouldn't retain anything thinner than tar LOL.
