Very nice photos and great location!!

I must admit that damn "hairlip" number plate holder dosen't do the front of the car any favours. I've mounted my plate on the grill (no problems with overheating). The only problem was the butt ugly holes it left behind. The car is going in next week to have the holes plastic welded and bar re-sprayed - also looking at removing the Nissan "Hamburger" badge and having that smoothed over as well. Then I just need to install the Grille-tech and the front should look a lot cleaner.

I just cut up the front plate holder so it can't be seen. Someone else here has done the same thing but I can't recall who.

Not easy to see in this pic but it's the best one I have online ATM.

I remember removing the plate mount when I first got the car and discovered the two holes (%$#**# !)
Initially wanted the Nismo front end but now cant be bothered unless some damage occured at the front end like a driveway scrape or something.
I agree 100% with you on the "hamburger".

apsilon, did you cut the holder to be smaller then the actual number plate?? Never thought of this D'oh! Might be a good fall back position if I start getting some heating problems in summer. Do you have a link to some close-ups of the mod?

Basically all I did was draw around the plate then take it all off the car and cut the plastic to the line I previously drew and then bolted it all back up again using the original holes.

Sorry, no close ups and I can't take any as I don't have the car any more.

Yeah thats alot better actually. Can't see the steering wheel/ seats as well but it looks stealth. Amazing what a little contrast does for a photo.
To me it looks like a different car when shot from the rear, kinda chunky and round at the same time.
Keep it up and post some more if you feel like sharing !

Apps, that looks a lot nicer than original.

Please advise if the black plastic piece is solid or hollow (I assume solid). Also, advise what you used to cut the plastic.
I would like to do the same, but am hesitant due to the fact that the plastic may not have a smotth finish when cut (ie will it show cut marks / saw marks end on?).

It's hollow. Take it off and you'll soon see. The plastic is maybe 3mm thick. I cut it with a dremel using a cut off wheel and then a sanding drum to clean up any ragged bits. Still not a perfect finish but it's out of sight. You could do the same thing with a hack saw or similar and sandpaper or file. Would just take a bit longer.

Ok - thanks Apps.

I'm not so sure of the hollow look from side on so may stick with OEM look.

The plate sits so close I don't think it's a problem and it vastly increases the appearence of just about every other angle IMO.

I'll have a close look at it on the weekend and decide whether it's worthwhile. Although, I must admit that I am taken by the look of it from your earlier attachment.

Cheers
