Just got my front tyres replaced yesterday and yes Nissan paid for 80% of the cost, that's right Nissan paid 80% under warranty due to feathering at around 10,000k the tyres have since done 33,000k, so you see there is hope, just find a good dealer.
I replaced the four OEM Bridgestones with Yokahama AVS V102 fitted to a new set of LM-GT4 Nismo Rims which arrived last week from Performance Nissan USA, they're nice and silent no more tyre roar and alot more grip. I had 245 /40 /18 93Y fronts and 275 /40 /18 99Y rears fitted, total cost $2040 (tyres) of which Nissan paid $648.00 (80% of OEM fronts), I can't believe now much of a difference a set of new tyres has made to the car I just hope they stay that way.

My car's in today having the tyre feathering looked at - tyre swap, alignment, etc. We'll see how it goes. The problem appeared at 20,000km and has gotten a lot worse in the 2,000 km since

ive done 6000kms and havent even had a look at mine yet.. might start keeping an eye on it cause i already had a non fixable puncture in a rear and was surprised at how much those frickin tyres are worth hahaha

It's best to get a wheel alignment thats the only way to be sure, because once you start to notice it's effects it's to late, the damage is done.

Bob Jane T-marts in Osbourne Pk did the alignment after Giants did the tyre swap (I only found this out coz I had to take my boss to pick his car up from Bob Jane's and they mentioned that they'd spent 2 hours fixing mine). The guy said the rear alignment was also out by miles. I asked if they'd done many Zeds and they said this is only their second. I told them to expect more!!!

As a matter of course they recommend that you have your alignment checked every 5,000 km.

When I picked the car up from Nissan I couldn't get a proper look at the worksheet but it didn't looked like they charged for it - might have been included in the $378 20,000km service or might be a correction on advice from Nissan

 

Congrats David..... you finally got those set of wheels.... I believe it will settle your mind a lot after 8 weeks to 9 weeks of waiting...

You gotta love the wheels as much as I do.... the car just becomes a lot more fun to drive, wouldn't you agree with me?!

ZZZ - did they calculate the 80% from the first time reported. ie 10K or was it an agreed percentage?

More than likely ... generaly speaking, cars are not very well aligned out of the dealer. They were probably well aligned before they put them on the boat (ie. to ship them here), but by the time they get here they are usually all over the place.

I'd say that it's well worth the $50 to get your car aligned as soon as it's run in (and suspension settled in).

So were mine and I had mine checked and redone about 2 weeks after I got the car. Absolutely no problems other than the tyres are just about shagged now!
