WSID "Street Meet"
On the 6th of October, I'll be heading out with the guys from the NSCC to the Western Sydney International Dragway for their weekly street meet.
While not a big drag-racing fan myself, I'd still love to give it a go and see what my car can do down the quarter.
Just wondering if anyone else is interested in coming along? It should make for a fun night.
There are various forms etc on their web site, and I'm not sure how you submit them.
As I get more info from guys who have gone, I'll add them to the thread.

Looks like WSID has changed back to Wed night meets.
If my new rubber has not arrived by the 6 Oct, I'll come along.
BTW, anyone got a spare helmet they could lend me - unfortunately WSID does not hire any - strickly BYO.

Just a quick bump to remind people that its this week.
Gates open and scrutineering from 3pm. Racing from 5pm to 9.30pm.
Even if you're not going to race, you can always come along and watch...

Would be great if you got a few cars to go so that we can compare the times and details.
ps. Here's a challenge to you Syndesiders - between the 4 of us in Melbourne we averaged 14.175sec pass ;-) Oh, and yougotta beat LK's 13.8 in the auto.

Guys, it will definitely be worth going if you can make it out there early enough to run.
The guys from the NSCC (and some other friends) are going if you want a mob of Nissans, and I know that one of the members (who daily drives a 200SX that makes around 200rwkW) is wheeling out his Fairlady, the vehicle he refers to as "the sports car".

Well, after trying to fit two wheels into the boot of the car and not even remotely succeeding (yes, I did take the spare out) it looks like I'll be streeting the next 2-3 days with the "backup" (i.e. the tyres I don't mind melting) rims.
All I need to do is empty the random crap from the cabin, and the car's ready to go.

Motor has clocked themselves running mid 14's (and Wheels does it in low 14's with 2 people on board) so I am aiming to run mid 13's.
Assuming I'm allowed to do burnouts to get these suckers warmed up, I should be able to get some nice launches and not lose too much time chirping the tyres when snap-changing into second.

Falken Azenins RT215 - I had them on the S2000 at one stage. Very good tyres untill I got about 10,000km on when it became slippery. I'll be interested how many Ks you get out of them as I only managed 12,500km before they had almost no gooves left. Very track friendly tyre though.

I think 14.3sec is the best that local mags managed (with two on board), but I'm sure that you can run 13.6sec pass if you manage to run a 2.0sec (or lower) 60' time. Good luck guys, and have fun.

They're not my tyres. I think the owner managed around 8000kms on his S15, but he drives hard and isn't gentle on tyres.
He's also worn the crap out of the insides, which hopefully means even more contact patch
I put air in them and ran the pressures up (since its the first time they've been on the car since I got them on the rim) and, on cold, they're very slippery. I'm hoping that getting some heat into them will resolve this.
I'll have to get someone to take a photo of me dropping a large burnout to get them up to temp.
