Arrow 2005 Track days... planned out your year yet?

Started perusing track dates for next year, and I've already formulated my first cut of planned DEs.

My initial list:
2/12 - 2/13 VIR Full w/ Triangle Z Club / THSCC
2/18 - 2/20 VIR Full w/ NASA
3/5 - 3/6 SP w/ CarGuys ??
3/19 - 3/20 Road Atlanta w/ NASA
4/2 - 4/4 Mid-Ohio w/ NASA
4/25 - 4/26 VIR Full w/ ACNA
5/30 - 5/31 Mid-Ohio w/ TracQuest
7/29 - 7/31 VIR North w/ NASA
9/24 - 9/25 SP w/ NASA
10/15 - 10/16 SP w/ NASA
11/19 - 11/20 VIR Full w/ ACNA
11/26 - 11/27 Barber w/ TracQuest

Of course there will be adjustments as the year progresses... but I hope to hit Road Atlanta and Barber for the first time in 2005.

Anybody else developed a game plan yet? I'd like to see who else is planning on attending the same events...

Nice list to begin with! Back to the track in February?

Weather is a bit too iffy for me till the end of April.

I see you're planning on running a lot with NASA.....not nearly enough track time for my $.

I've only found a couple events so far in the mid-west:

April 30 & May 1 at Road America with Windy City BMW
May 16 at Blackhawk with Lotus Corps

BUT, there WILL be many more!!!!

A few of us flat-landers are planning on going to Watkins Glen though.

I don't remember ACNA??????

Hey there... still planning on carrying through your idea on a hitch for the Z? If so, you have a customer. Let me know, I'd like to get it done sooner than later since I have a set of street wheels / tires now.

GEEZ John! With that many DEs, I say you just put a cage in your car and go race it in T2..would be cheaper and a WHOLE lot more fun

BTW, I hope to be at the MO DE with NASA in April...let's pray for NO snow this time. The rest of the time, I'll be on the track racing.

Happy Holidays,
J

December 17th. California Speedway (JGTC configuration)
January 21st. Laguna Seca
February 4-6. Skip Barber at Laguna Seca
February 27. Skip Barber at Laguna Seca
February 30. Willow Springs (big track).
March 11. Buttonwillow
May 27th. California Speedway.

Working on getting up to Sears Point and Thunderhill, and perhaps Fernley and Spring Mountain at some point as well.

John, a yes & a not too soon. I have committed to another batch of BCR harness bars and I have something else for all the track stars tying up my very limited funds that will be announced real soon.

I have a few more people waiting for a Z Hitch......and more than a few ideas bouncing around......oh yah, I even have a couple manufactures lined up.

The only thing it costs me is my energy since I instruct.

Hope to see you at MO again in April. Hopefully we can get a good Z turnout again. Would you entertain the thought of coming down to VIR for the Triangle Z event?

I'd love to, but it's a long way to tow in the snow. I ran VIR with NJ PCA this fall and had a blast. I plan to race the national there in the fall, but don't think I'll make it to any DEs.

Jason H,

I'd like to make some of your SE T2 races. Post your race plans when you get time.

April 8-10 NASA HPDE/Race at RoadAmerica
April 16-17 Speedseekers F-Body Association at RoadAmerica
April 22-23 SCCA Driver's School - Black Hawk Farms Raceway
April - September Friday Evenings - Test & Tune at Gingerman Raceway, South Haven, Michigan.
October ?? - ?? Speedseeker F-Body Association at RoadAmerica
Summer - Either Skip Barber or Tracktime School (2-day? 3-day?) at RoadAmerica

There will be others - it's just so early, most schools and associations still don't have firm commitments from tracks.

I agree about NASA being a little less tracktime than what some may want, but it is the week before Speedseekers (in which you get more than your fill of time on the big track at RA!) I want to test out my new setup (new rotors, cooling ducts, possible ECU flash) in a controlled environment with close instruction before I run with the muscle boys the next week.

I had the design completed right after that last SP event. I was all set and scheduled to work with my local fabricator on the first prototype (mine) when I (not my wife ) blew the head gasket in my E36 BMW. That teardown is now taking all my free time and extra money. The hitch will have to wait until the Bimmer is back on the road, hopefully in early January.

Hopefully, you will see me pulling my tool/tire trailor to VIR in Feb. Wish me luck on both projects.

Let me know and I'll drive my car down and drop it off... I definitely need it prior to VIR.

jmark, glad to see you're coming up to Road America for the June Sprints!

Jason, I'll try to make that event also, at least for 1 day.....Think about a test run 4/30 & 5/1......BMWCCA is doing a HPDE then, and I see you have a break in your schedule....I'll buy you a brat! But be forewarned....some local Z's are VERY fast! We don't need no stinking SCCA rules!
