Default anyone Auto-X'ing/ Road Racing their boosted Z?

how are the boosted Z's doing at Auto-X? how are they holding up physically?

I'm thinking about getting the APS single turbo when it's released, but i don't want to find out my car can't handle Auto-X and road racing conditions w/ a turbo setup after it's too late

oil consumption issues notwithstanding, my stillen supercharged Z performed flawlessly on both the track and autocross. The low end torque of the system is perfect for auto-x.

I have run the ATI SC about 18,000 miles and 8 track events in California, and it has been terrific. It is on a G35, not a Z, but the same motor. I still cannot pull on the Vipers, but the stock Vettes cannot get away, machine to machine...in those instances it all depends on driver vs driver. But the Vipers in the straights just have too much power.

i thought a lot of people would be having problems w/ all the heat under the hood, especially since the car is being pushed so hard for such a long period of time

are you guys running on stock internals? how hard do you push the cars off the track?

it seems like most people w/ FI are drag racing their cars

Im running the PE kit ..The only problem are the stainless steal exhaust manifols they supply w/ the kit (they crack).. they are going to offer casted manifolds as an option to the kit very soon.Im going to be the first one in the states to run and test the casted manifolds, so i will try and keep you posted...

Tried out my Stillen s/c for the first time at AutoX this past weekend. Needless to say, it was difficult to put the power down in a productive manner. My old AutoX experience is out the door, and I've got to relearn how to drive the damn thing. Lots of fun though, and will be much happier once I figure it out and get the times down.

Mine's solid for AutoX. Rock solid. Not terribly competitive in E-Mod lol, but solid Seemed quite capable on the road courses I was on too (Lime Rock and NHIS) but I'm a n00b there...

if you're wanting to be competitive in AutoX w/ an FI 350Z, you've got lots of work to do...you'd be in a class w/ FI'd miata's that power/weight ratios are really high and have extreme handling. From what I've heard, no car weighing over 3,000 lbs have ever won that class in our region...

i've tracked my turbonetics kit equipped z once so far (other track events were n/a). related to the kit, i've had an oil temperture issue on one of the sessions, as the gauge hit 300F. i don't particularly remember the day being super hot - willow springs, ca in January.

i slowed down and came off track to cool off. i went to the next heat w/o a problem though.

i am working on making an oil cooler and my turbocharger is now water-cooled. i do not think i will have much problem after this.

Well, when the thread was started Christmas of 2004, I think I was probably at my parent's house having a very Merry Christmas dreaming of going FI lol.

But to add to my thread. I have been tracking my built motor JWT 530bb turbo kit since January 2006 without a single engine related problem. For AutoX its probably too much power to where it would probably not even be useable at an AutoX. At the track, its awesome, however since everybody seems to be stepping up to the bb700s, we have become the low end of the totem pole power wise at the Time Attacks. Time to upgrade!
