Contract signed for Runoffs to be held at Heartland Park in Topeka for 2006 - 2008. WTF?

 

Will be interesting to see how this impacts 1) the number of racers willing to race in Kansas and 2) the number of fans that will attend. I really thought it would stay at a "major" track (ie, VIR, Glenn, Rd.Atlanta, Barber, etc...) Oh well...just going to have to win the last one at MidOhio

 

This is great news for us West Coasters, a day and a half closer to us, in a location that will have a lot better weather (usually around 80deg that time of year) instead of the notoriously fickle weather in Ohio (I remember one Runoffs when it started SNOWING...). Also there are far more Hotels etc closer to the track than at Mid-Ohio so it will be alot more convenient. The track is supposed to be ok, not a lot of elevation changes but IMSA used to race there and it was always a good event.

 

I wish they would move it back to Road Atlanta, it was there for upteen years.

 

None of us on the West Coast want to see it back at Road Atlanta! One of the reasons that SCCA moved it originally was to put it in a more centralized location so that people from all over the country could access it a little easier
