I look forward to drooling on all the Z's, makes me wish I could afford one...not just yet. Maybe next year. Today was a cold day, but overall pretty fast. Mid-Ohio has pushed back the walls at the end of the back straight and around Madness, so there's quite a bit of dirt still on the track. Otherwise no changes that I've noticed...

 

And it'll be snowing tomorrow!

Unfortunately, I don't have any of the Z's. I'm ashamed of myself. Let me know if you guys end up running tomorrow or sunday, I'd like to come watch some more, and get some more pictures. John, and James...truly some of the nicest guys I've met. Thank you...for the ride of my life, I've been bragging to my friends all day...all of which, have been jealous! I'll post what I got...hopefully I'll get some more this weekend of the other cars. I took my cam along with me for the ride with John, but once he hit the throttle....i forgot all about that camera....my mom called me while we was riding...didn't notice...I was too focused on the track, enjoying the ride of my life! Thanks again, I know me and jenna LOVED it.

 

I had a great time. Both John and James were very nice guys. Oh and thanks for the ride, then on the other hand im going to say I hate you for that ride. You were right John, I got addicted. I am now searching e-bay for a starter car. Im not about to race the Z, I got too much invested in the car to wreck it, eventhough it's being a pain in my *** at the moment. Anyways I will post what pics I have up here after bit. Dial up ownes me. Sorry about the snow, damn weather..... You guys have a safe trip home.

Nice meeting everybody as well. James and I left 9AM on Saturday morning to caravan back east. Both of us have RA1s with no tread. Exiting the offramp to go to his hotel to get his crap, he proceeded to enter into a 540, and I slid sideways down the ramp. He decided to stay put, and I decided to go on. About 15 miles up I-71, conditions got really bad, and going uphill, my car simply wasn't going any further. I pulled off at 10AM, and a state trooper supposedly called a AAA wrecker for me. Roads were treated, and after 3 calls to AAA (officer's dispatch was never entered, thank you Ohio State Police ) and 2.5 hours of being stuck on the side of the interstate (and watching everybody with their truck and car in tow go by, a nice Ohio resident pulled over and offered to pull me out. So Saturday was an interesting experience. Now I really need to focus on getting my tire trailer fixed.

 

John, I'm really sorry you guys went through that. Today it's 50 out, snow's all gone, and I think they might have been racin, but I didn't check. When you say James did a 540....you mean like a spin? Did you guys still end up caravaning together? Glad to hear you made it home safe, but I'd like to know James made it too! Sorry for the crappy weather....I'm thinkin of registering for the Gingerman race in MI, July 16th weekend. I'll have some nicer wheels/tires better suited for anything besides snow lol. Probably be lowered too...which will help my body roll in my otherwise crappy car. You know what the rules are on convertibles? If I need a rollbar I'm toast...anyways yeah, nice meetin ya, and good luck on your further ventures!

What a weird week-end this was!

Glad you guys finally made it home. My Z spent the day and night at the track. There was no way I was driving it out of there!





We did get to lap the track some time before noon on sunday. Conditions were quite challenging with the melting snow creating huge puddles at various points of the track.

I stoped during my third session. With 1-2 inches of water in the carroussel I was flooding the inside of the car! That session was pretty bad with all HPDE groups on the track at the same time. A guy with a Porsche GT3 completely lost it in the straight after turn 1 (lots of water) and spun out to the inside of the track. He almost got accross to the other side of the track!

All in all, a great first time on the track for the Z. This car is a LOT of fun on the track

Weather is NICE now, 50+ all kinds of sun...ticks me off it got crappy for when you was here, and was nice both before and after.

I was thinking of taking pictures while going around the track in James' car, but when he hit those corners, the only thing on my mind was hangin on to stay alive lol

 

Well, I figured I'd follow up on an OT comment. While I was stuck in the snow on the side of I-71, I got a phone call from a company I was already interviewing with, but from a different project. Interviewed very early this morning, received an offer, and accepted it. Funny thing is that when they called on Saturday and asked me if I had time to chat, I said, "well let me tell you where I am right now." I guess it helped break the ice (pun intended) and everything worked out perfect.

Anyways, there are some photos on www.racenasa.com that show the snow. Looks like the track got almost 6"!

 

John, congrats on the re-employment.

Quite possible. Gotta wait until I start the new job and figure out when I'm going to be travelling etc. All my track plans are currently on hold...

Kolia - I didnt see you there? Where were you at thsi whole time? Well I was onth there Friday, but all i saw was John and James car then a guy from Akrons White Z, and a Yellow Vert Z...... Oh I also saw a black G, waved to him a few times but he never waved back or stoppe dot say hi.....

Anyways, it was a great day Friday.....

Okay, I'm still struggling with my video camera. First time I've used it actually. Geez, these things eats gigs of memory real fast! My laptop only had 3 gigs availlable so the sequence I have is only 7 minutes long. Tried to compress it with limited succes...

We (Jeremy and I) just kept chatting ALL the time... Ho and I'm french canadian. That's why I have this outrageous accent...

I'll try to do a better job of compressing the whole session later. I also have onboard footage from a race S2000, a race Integra and the Excursion (yeah, on the track with the SUV!)
