Default Who's going to Mid-Ohio, April 1-3

Hey guys,

I've just signed up for NASA's three-day weekend at Mid-Ohio, and am a little surprised that I had to start this thread. I hope a bunch of you will be joining me. I'm in Group 4.

Register here: www.nasaproracing.com It's only $435 for three days, $295 for two days, or $195 for one day.

I've reserved a garage and, like last year, I'm holding a share of it for John and EnthuZ, unless they say they won't be coming or don't want to share with me. (I promise to take a shower each day!) In which case I'll open it up to the first person willing to go in on the price: $65 each.

I'm staying at the Baymont Inn in Mansfield. It's a couple of miles farther from the track than the hotels at the US 71 interchange, but it's cheaper and better than them: as I post this you can get a room through Orbitz for $69 (less than the hotel's own site.) It's a 3-star hotel, and it has a hot tub, which is my main requirement for a track hotel. There's nothing better than a soak in the hot tub after a day at the track!

We had a great contingent of Zs last year. I hope we can do as well or better this year. And that the fargin' weather's a little nicer!

See you there.

Hey James. I won't be able to make it this year. Have fun without me. No snow and have a safe weekend. Look forward to reading about it here.

I will be at the PCA OVR DE April 15-17th if anyone is going c-ya there!

Regards,
Jason

I just answered your E-mail, but unfortunately I won't be joining you this year.....on this date. I have too many events closer to home starting a few weeks later. Jason, still want to blow away a bunch of Vette's at Road America?

How many times does it need to snow down there on these dates to realize that it's just to damn early in the year. It's just a crap shoot. As much as I would like to do Mid Ohio for a spring event, I want to drive at the limit and not mess with the sh!tty weather.

What all is required to put the car on the track? Me and my friend live within just a few miles of the track, so we won't need hotels although, you guys are welcome to hang out. I don't have a roll cage in my car or anything....would that be ok? What event is this? Just regular pay for track time or is this some sort of special event? I need more info

All you need is a helmet.

Check this out: http://www.nasaproracing.com/hpde/index.html

WARNING: This activity is extremely addictive! If you try it just once, you may find yourself irresistably drawn to tracks every weekend and could end up spending your children's college money on upgrades to your car!

I think the NASA Web site explains it somewhere, but yes. It's a relatively small fee, $35- 50 per year, something like that.

Who?

As of now, I'm planning on going. Looks like I may be "quasi-unemployed" again that time of year. *sigh*

Arg! I procrastinated too long and the event is full... I've emailed Lawrence to see if he can fit me into the instructor corps. If everything works out I will be there all three days as I just found out that I'm losing my job and I have sick days to burn. *cough cough*

Yep! I'm going.

The '05 Track in HPDE 2. I've just gone trough the break in period and will be installing the track pads tomorrow for bed-in.

This will be my first track event in the States. I'm very curious to see how things are done here. I've lapped in Italy and it's a real free-for-all some times!

If anybody needs lodging, I have a spare room at my place. Near Columbus, about 90 minutes from MidOhio. It's not much (I just moved in) but way cheaper than the hotel!

I just put my track wheels on and it's at the shop now getting new fluids and a check over. (And a nice new polish after a dirty winter, too.) Leaving Thursday morning. I'm ready to roll!

John and I will be in Garage #24. See you all there.

Kolia: you may want to consider looking for cheap hotel closer in. Driving an hour and a half to and from the track each day could be pretty exhausting after a long day on track. But, then again, I'm an old fart. YMMV.

I will be there Friday afternoon, unfortunately I have to work Friday night from 5-9 but Sat im Free and will be there aswell. I will come and meet all of you that I can. Im in the SS 350 (lowered, on 19" Axis Hiros, Borla Exhaust, ect...) Cant really miss it. Anyways my names Clay so if I go around saying hi to everyone and saying im Clay you had better know who im tlaking about. On a sad note I will not be racing, all the winter mods took up that last of my pleasure fund....... Hope to see you all there and if anyone wants to go out Friday or Sat night I know the surrounding area well considering i have lived w/i 3 miles from the track.
