Default impressed with car after atl region points 1

today was atlanta points 1 event and also my first time auto-xing the Z. I found it to be very neutral with the konis turned to full hard and 35psi front 31psi rear in the 710s. The car felt very fast and transitioned well. I botched my last run by accidently leaving the TCS on. I don't have the actual results but from memory Rob Falkner in his 968 was 1st with 46.2 and I was 2nd w/ 46.8 I'm pretty sure I could have caught him if I didn't throw away my final run. There where a couple other drivers but no sure on their times.\

Overall I learned some things about how the Z handles and was very happy to be that close to Rob. I would put my money on the Z being the car to have this year after see it VS other BS cars so far.

Good driving Andrew.Staying in the same second with Rob in the first event with the Z is a very very good start. If that was Rob's 968,he has had that car for a long time and he gets the most out of it.
Know the feeling well...forgetting to turn off the TC!
How fast was the course? Any third gear or rev limit sections?

Carter, I'd say the course was probably equal for both cars there some fast sections, never hit the rev limiter though. Over all it was a pretty technical course. I'd say fastest I got was around 50-52 mph. I'm happy with the results but disappointed I threw away my last run. The car is a huge change from my Subaru It is going to take a few more events to get comfortable. I'm no longer nervous driving the car though and plan to do well in Jax this weekend.

Good luck in Jax.I just looked at the entry list and the only fast car I recognize is Kevin Kipta..red '72 911.This will be the fastest old 911 you will find in BS. He is fast so be ready. Not as fast as Rob/968 unless it is a tight course.Don't know any of the other entrants. Now is a good time to start an Ultra Yellow Z win streak.
Regarding tire pressures...the Kumhos like low pressure.Your Sunday pressures may be right for the Z (we never had Kumhos on our Z)but as a reference the SM2 Vette(3050 lbs) we ran last year at Nat's on 335/35/17 710's was best at 28F/26R on concrete...so don't be afraid to go down in pressure if you need to.All the fast Vettes in SS and SM2 ran pressures under 30.

I'll drop a pound or 2 for my first run to check it out. The Jax courses are always fast since its on a runway its usually 2 giant 1 million cone slaloms with a turnaround in between. I'll let you know how itturns out on monday.
