Picking up new wheels & tires, should I use them or OEM for the track?
I have a set of OZ wheels I am picking up on friday. They were intended for another car, but I am thinking of putting them on the Z. I will be tracking the Z in a few weeks and would welcome the extra traction.
The wheels are 18 x 8 in the front and 18 x 9 in the rear
Tires are Pirelli Directional ZR 18s
245/45 front
285/45 rear
35 mm offset
Would this increase the understeer, or anything else I should be aware of?
Car is primarily street driven with occasional track time. Stock suspension..
Thanks

I would think that these wheels would give you too much understeer for the track. If you take a look at sport compact car's Z project, they actually evened out the tire width front and rear and were able to achieve neutral handling.

However, keep in mind that the new tire setup you have will most likely mess up your traction control so you will have to turn it off while running on those tires (not always a good idea on the street).
Pretty much a judgement call.
