Default What are you using to protect your car?

So what, if anything are you guys using to protect your daily driver at track days? I took my first Z to a track day and it damaged my front bumper, hood, and pitted my windshield a bit. I think I may have to deal with the windshield problem, but there has to be a fix for the front bumper and hood, aside from the permanent 3M mask. Any thoughts guys?

I've seen first hand that many of the professional teams (Champ Car, Grand-Am, etc.) use paint protection film, and you'd think that if something else worked well, they would have come up with it by now. I've used Star Shield Armor's film on several race and street cars and I've been very happy with the results.

There's film for the windshield, too (NASCAR uses it), but I don't know who sells that.

Colgan Car Bra and 3m painters tape. Tape stays on, and comes off without leaving a residue. Bra is great for roadtrips and love bug season anyway so it's worth it. Just make sure the car is cleaned and put down a lil quick wax where the bra and tape will go. Just some covering up the rockers/sideskirts will keep ya from getting that cone crap on ya if ya space out in a slalom. That and staying a ways behind from the car about to make their run ( if you're autoxing )
Works for me.

Great, thanks for the info guys. I agree with the use of masking tape and I am going to try and find some of that nifty windshield stuff that nascar uses. Maybe I'll just buy a second bumper too, since mine is already pretty abused.
