Default Opinions please :)

I have a 03 Touring, have 17s w/ kumho 710s for autocross (not bs legal, technicaly). However, I bought the car used and the rear tires were pretty much gone when I got the car. Several months ago I came across an awesome deal on some ROH Dritft R wheels, 18x9, 22 offset (I think) front, 18x10, 24 offset ( I think)rear. Anyway, I want a good street tire that I can maybe use for autocross wets when necessary, I've looked and come up with several options. The Kumho MX was my first thought, I was looking at 245/40/18 for the front and 275/40/18 for the rear, seems alright, not too expensive, sizes should keep the traction control happy... but the Kumho ASXs are about $200 cheaper for the set, and seem like they might actually be more hydroplane resistant, plus a treadwear warranty seems like a nice thing to have. Another question I have is, what about 275/35/18s on the front? They're just as close of a match, diameter wise, and would be about $50 more each. Any thoughts or suggestions welcome.
