Default Autox 4 Cash prizes

Hey guys, I know trophies are nice (gotten a few), but i was wondering if people would be interested in competeing for cash prizes. Now this is only an idea and wondering what peoples thought were on this. I understand that autox'ing has been a Tradition for most and wouldnt wanna impose, But heck if cash prizes were involved might add a bit of spark. Dont get me wrong i love Autox'ing regardless but what if the top placing drivers recieved a little more than a little plastic cone or a generic plaque. Naturally entrance fee would increase, but for arguments sake out of 10 drivers the top 3 would recieve 100, 75 and 50 (third winning there money back) respectively.

ehh I think your going to have a hard time squeezing an extra 10-20 out of people locally for 5 minutes of driving.
Besides unless there is national level competition I don't think people would be willing to pay. Locally I can tell you with 90% certainty who the winner is going to be in each class at every one of our events.

Sponsorship is the way to go. In Atlanta Knowledge performance offers gift certificates for 1st 2nd and 3rd place in the pro class. Similarly the bmwcca in atlanta offers dyno pulls for ftd and 1st in class drivers.

I won 100 dollars at the atlanta prosolo this year from kumho !!!!

I think it would make the level of money that people stick in their cars even higher as if we don't spend enough now. And think of all the politics that will ensue from such an idea. There would be protest at every event. IMHO

Ocassionally we'll have a local index pool here, just a few of us putting in $5 each, to see who gets the best index time and win all the $$, or break it up by placin, 1 2 3 if there are enough people in.

I agree that we can almost always tell who will take top honors in each class but i think "cash prizes" might add a bit of interest to people who already spend tons of cash on there rides, and maybe that will entice them to come out and play.

As for the Experianced AutoX'er (i might be speaking for myself) i feel that they would pay A bit extra to win $$$, and give them an even better reason to step up there driving. I guess i see it sorta like playing poker, you might win or you might lose but heck if your not gonna try and take it all.

As for protest, bring them on. If somebody is cheating they should be protested and striped of there Prize. Im sure that if an example is made of somebody, people would refrain from cheating. Plus, to examine a car should'nt take more than 5 mins.

Well i guess what im trying to say is that i believe Cash prizes would definately increase my intrest, and without a doubt make it much much more exciting.

Thanks for your thoughts, Jonathan G
