Having raced at RA, I have to say that incidents like the one here are not uncommon. A late green flag, concrete walls, bunched field and powerful cars are all ingredients for a bad shunt. The other factor that is not as apparent is the elevation change from the beginning of the front straight to the start/finish line. It's steep enough that in a big field you cannot see what's happening until it's too late!

A similar shunt happened at this year's June Sprints and many cars were eliminated before they even came close to taking the green. I've come to accept it is part of the risk you take in racing at what is, IMHO, the best road racing track in NA.
