OT: Does anybody know where I can get those little American flag stickers that many racers put in front of their name on the side of their car? I'd like one to put on my helmet before I visit the 'Ring in - woah - less than four weeks...

I built the car myself, although I did sub out the roll cage, motor and computer tuning.
I've been satisfied with the custom valved double adjustable shocks from TC Kline. There have been some teething problems with the shocks as there have been with some other areas of the car, but TC is great to work with and I know that we will be set come runoffs time.
My first impressions driving the Z are that it is incredible from a handling perspective and a braking perspective. I also think it is going to be tough to pass some of the higher HP/Torque cars... the Neon SRT4 at VIR would scoot out to a 10 - 15 car length lead on the long back stretch. The key at the runoffs for the Z is to qualify up front and to avoid getting killed at the start.
Mark - It was great seeing you at VIR. Thanks for all of the help and the great pictures!
John - Where did you move? Did you buy a place?

Moved between Courthouse and Rosslyn, but no I didn't buy as mailboxes will run you a half a million nowadays... I need to give you a call sometime soon and will have to stop by...
Mark McMahon in Akron, Ohio built the cage just as he built the cage on our camaro. If your not an expert welder you need a guy like him to get a strong, safe, engineered roll cage. The car is about 100 lbs. too heavy but we have some areas where we can reduce the weight, like passenger seat. The shock problem was in no way TC Kline's fault and we now have about 4 hours of track time on the car and its all part of the teething of a race car. You run ennough time and things fall off or happen that just dont occur on street cars. We are going to try for one more track session before the runoffs, probably at Summit Point. Besides the seat that Rob is looking for does anyone have any standard lights they would let go cheap?
Good pics Mark..........thanks for the phone charge and all the help at VIR.

Seems as though the 350Z is getting brake ducts in T2.

TC Kline must not have accumulated enough points to qualify for the runoffs as he is now listed as not approved. We also lost Howard Yang and his 350Z. 3 Others either dropped out or didnt get enough points so the T-2 total is now down to 48 and second is entries to E Producton.
I don't know that brake ducts will help much but I dont think we can use them until after the runoffs.

The way that I read the rule change, we are allowed to put the brake ducts on the car effective 9/1 (about an hour and a half from now) :

Guys - this kit isn't being released by Nismo, it's by Nissan Motorsports, US. I should have the kit in a few days, but from what I hear, it's not "optimally designed" (ie, your home kits are probably just as good)...but it's better then what we had before (NOTHING). After the Runoffs, I'll let you know what I think.

That's too bad TC won't be there...BUT, there still is going to be 6 Zs racing. Anyone that is coming out to the Runoffs, be sure to stop by and say Hi. I'll be in the Nissan factory tent located in the paved paddock area (last year it was in the middle paddock) BIG white tent, can't miss it. Daytona Blue Z car # 99 T2 class (see below).
GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE Z GUYS AT SOLOS!!!
Drive on!
