Default Suspension setups

I'm not concerned with comfort. I am just looking for some options for a track suspension. I am new with the Z, but have track times in many other cars. I'm just wondering what setups have been successful and made actual improvements in lap times. I know the Motons are nice, but they are way pricey. I'm not ruling them out, just seeing what other options there might be.

Thanks,

With the help of others running national events on this forum this is what I have done and it seems to work well.

Tires
Kuhmo 710's 17" Made a huge diff (3 seconds on a 60 sec course)

Sway
350 Evo front sway full stiff (nice change, felt less body roll and way more responsive and picked up some rear grip)

Shocks
Koni SA's Full soft in back and full stiff in front (won both events since putting these on, and had the 2nd fastest overall not including a few pro's at the last event)

Air filter
K&N (don't really notice any diff yet needed a new one anyway)

Other planned mods:

wheels
Enkie RPF 1's will knock about 10 lbs per wheel off (That is huge, should make a big diff in performance and times)

Exhaust
Still need some info on what is working best for others, most are talking about a titanium one piece cat back that is light weight

Alignment
Haven't done anything here yet, I heard it makes a big difference in cornering (helps lessen the understeer) will try it next season

Most important is seat time and talking/watching more experienced drivers lines during their runs.

If your looking for a good streetable set-up that will work well at track days, then maybe you should look at the Nismo S-tune suspension.

I will be getting this hopefully this month. The spring rates are what I want and I've heard it performs quite well with street tires, and it retains good ride quality.

If you just looking for a fast auto-x set-up then the post above had the important things you need. Big sticky tires and Koni's do alot for this car autoxing.

what would be the downside to running 350EVO bars on their stiffest settings?

The suspension will not be so independent. On smooth pavement, stiff sways are all good, transfering load to the diagonaly opposed wheel.

Hit some mid-corner bumps and both wheels on the same axle will be excited and you will loose traction.

Back on topic, Axelerate marks a valid point. what kind of track are you planing on doing ?

Since you're not concerned with ride quality, how about T2 springs with your choice of shocks. I've actually ridden in a car with the T2 springs and it is tolerable (for an enthusiast) on a daily basis
