I think if you can afford it go for it. I attened the Bondurant school before I had ever been on a track, and it was a blast. I was able to drive Cobras, and the formula Fords. At that time I didn't have a car I would have really wanted to enter into an HPDE event, and I wanted good focused learning, which I received.

If you don't have the money do anything you can to learn, like an HPDE event.

BTW Bondurant, Skip and all the name brand schools are way too damn expensive IMO.

I don't know where you are located in the US, but I recently discovered http://www.springmountainmotorsports.com/

They have open wheel racers and Z06s and the prices are much cheaper then bondurant. I'm headed out there for my BDAY In Jan or Feb, so I'll let everyone know how it is.
