Thats rediculous. Looks way faster than when I am in my car . Perhaps even more impressive is that Chevy Cobalt's time...

That cobalt is definitely impressive. I heard about it a few weeksa go. Then again that is Chevy's corporate car so there is a huge budget. Keep in mind that s2k had a stock motor running!

I know. That S2k is sick. Huge budget or not, this is really Chevy's first effort at a sport compact track car. I am impressed with them so far. Too bad the Cobalt is fugly and you would need a corporate budget to make it cool. Damn that video makes me want to get back out there.

yeah that is crazy. here is a link to the cobalt info. "It is the second fastest time ever for a Time Attack run at Buttonwillow and eclipses the previous records set for FF Unlimited (1:57) and All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) Limited (1:54) classes."

I just took a look at all the cars on that list too, the cobalt beat some of the highest budget, most well known, tuner cars in the world.... signal's gt-r skyline, j's racing s2k, Buschar's evo, import tuners evo, hasports teg, and i could go on and on, but you get the point

Also didn't hurt that John Heinricy was driving the cobalt either. I wonder how much weight they saved using all dry carbon on that S2K. Has to be more than a little.

the cobalt had lots of carbon fiber too. a lot of the drivers on that list are pretty well known guys.

i wish the Z only weighed 2100 lbs... that would be a blast.

thats pretty wicked... watching the video though... he's got another second or more if he worked on smoothness. Really does go to show what lightweight + heavy downforce can do

Check out Chen's time in his Axis track car. That's about as light a Z as you can make, and I doubt his motor was stock, and still a full 8 seconds behind the S2000!! That's pretty impressive.

s2k is simply a better car on the track it seems. Amuse 350Z has some heavy weight reductions, rebuilt head, cams, etc as well (dry carbon doors, dry carbon fenders, etc) and the best time they got in Tsukuba was around 1:04 while their street S2K had 1:02:91 with lot less mods.

the lighter the better on the track. torque wont mean **** if there is a lightweight s2000 on the track. weight is a huge factor in raod racing

I've seen that car as well, I think it was Speed magazine, but this one's different. It's white with a CF hood and hatch, completely stripped... I don't think it's boosting.

James Chen's Axis car has a Procharger supercharger. My car will be the one out there next year with the JWT TT and a built motor in a gutted track Z. Get it right, geez.

Actually its in the process right now. Should be done around the first week in January. As of today the motor is being finished at the machine shop. Good to see you over here! I didn't put 2 & 2 together with the usernames.
