Default Sport Driving or Race Tracks in MD/DC/VA?

All the boardmembers on the West Coast constantly talk about taking the Z out on the track or to a pro driving school to really develop a feel for the car and also what to do in case of an emergency (i.e. 180 spinouts on the highway)

But no one has ever mentioned any such schools or tracks on the East Coast.
Namely in the DC/MD/VA area. Any of you guys know of somewhere to track or work on building your skills handling the 350 around here?

Some people have mentioned taking the car to an abandoned parking lot and just testing it out there, but I'd really prefer not to have some jerk-off security guard or cop wonder who the hell the guy in the 350Z is doing launches/burn-outs/spins in the lot out back

Any info would be greatly appreciated

Check FATT at Summit Point, WV. http://www.bsr-inc.com/

SCCA autocross begins at Ripken Stadium, Aberdeen, MD in the spring.

Stick around a bit and read through past threads in this forum. Lots of activity in the DC area run by various organizations. You should look into doing an HPDE (High-Performance Drivinig Educations)... a lot of people scoff at the cost at ~$300 / weekend, but it's the best modification you'll ever make since it's to the driver. I've instructed with many groups in the Mid-Atlantic region, and they all have pros and cons. I can advocate for the ones I've run with in this area - Triangle Z Club, NASA, CarGuys, Mazda Drivers, Audi Club, and several others, and as mentioned, FATT is an option if you're able to take Fridays off. Closest track to you is Summit Point near Charleston WV, which has three circuits. Main is a good one, Shenandoah is extremely technical, but I wouldn't bother with the Jefferson Circuit. Second closest to you is VIR near Danville VA, a high-speed circuit with 4 viable configurations that are internationally-recognized. Definitely worth a visit.

Test... my post doesn't seem to have registered in this thread according to the forum...

Edit: confirm that a yes... must be a flaw in the software (note that posts in this thread do not indicate # of posts of this thread from the forum perspective...
