Default rec'd spacer size for track wheels?

I know that a lot of threads have started about spacers (both here and in the wheel's section)...I'm wondering what's the best offset to have for autoX and track events?

My track wheels are:

17X9 +35mm offset Enkei RPO2J w/ toyo RA-1s.
F: 255/40
R: 275/40

I'm thinking of going with a 10mm spacer...does this sound right? I'm not doing this for looks, it's purely for handling.

Priorities:
1) AutoX
2) Track
...these will never see the street, but I'd like to get something that will help in both autoX and track events.

thanks!!

With these sizes and offset, you don't need spacers. the 270/40 will fit in the rear.

You don't need spacers for those wheels, they will fit with margins.

You could go up to a 10mm in the front and 20mm in the rear without rubbing issues(and that's conservative). Personally, if these are track wheels, I'd leave it like this, I heard a lot of bad comments by people who used aggressive spacers on the track. For autocross, people seem to love spacers... it's up to you.

I had to get 15mm spacers to clear my Track model Brembo's.

I drive the spacers on the street, and can't say I've noticed much difference in 'normal' street handling. When pushed, the car does seem to turn-in slightly better than before and has at little more kickback thru the steering wheel over bumps.

BTW, I only A/X.

Cwalker, you run the 15mm spacers front and rear?

Yeah, running them on all 4.

The rear Brembo's have plenty of clearance without the spacers, but I didn't want to space the fronts and not the rears.
