Looks pretty new. It says on their website that this was just added to Performance Nissan's catalog on March 24, 2006.

Hey guys - it's a kit with 2 NACA Ducts the rivet into the lower engine cover. Then the hoses are zip tied to your suspension. The part that they didn't develop (and we need in my opinion) is a trick mount that maybe attaches near the rotor so you don't have to zip tie it.

I believe the hardware included in the kit is:
2 NACA Ducts
2 3ft or so hoses
Rivets
Zip ties

does it require drilling and intrusive modifications

 

I looked at Jasons installation and Nissan had some kits at the runoffs so we got one and I installed it in about 45 minutes with a hack saw blade and sheet metal snips. Use the button type of pop-rivet and be sure to cut the hole smaller than you think so you can file out as needed if its too small. It takes about 10 minutes to take the panel off and 15 to put it back on. The hose brackett is in development and should be ready by May. The zip-ties work pretty well if your careful how you attach. I think the ducts work.

I spoke to Nissan Motorsports about these a while back and even have some pics that I can dig up. I didn't go with them because I think they can be better designed on your own (if you're not limited to T2 rules).
They draw air from the undertray rather than from the front bumpers and the hose is just directed towards the brakes with no real fitting. I'm sure it's better than nothing but one can easily do something a little better. Some members have posted their homemade ducts here.

I can't tell from the pic but is it blowing on the caliper or the rotor?

It looks like it is blowing onto the caliper, I always thought you wanted to blow it into the center of the Rotor?

Really don't like where the air is coming from - under the car, much rather it come from the front bumper.
I think I am just going to make my own one day, when I get some time. Some dryer exhaust hose and zip ties are cheap!

 

Ideally yes, you want to direct it to the center of the rotor. But this is better than nothing.

As for scooping the air form the undertray vs the front bumper it might not be so bad. Routing the duct around the radiator might create enough restriction to limit the efficiency of the whole system.

Turner Motorsport sells these for E36 BMW's for $299.95.

 

there are blanks (no cut outs) CF spindle ducts with 5" inlets similar to the pics above at racerpartswholesale.com It's not on the website yet, I saw them in their snail mail catalog for 129 per side.
They also sell the NACA ducts for 15 each.
The hose sells for 80-120 depending on diameter in 11' lengths.
