FS: Custom made hitch set-up
A local deal, swapping out our bumpers would probably be preferred, but I think this would be easy to ship out, so that's cool too.
Everything (including hardware), less the ball. $300 plus shipping.

I'm trying to think how I would weigh it, the receiver is still mounted to the bumper. I'm hoping the pictures might give you an idea. The unit is invisible when the tongue is removed from the receiver, I'm hoping I can get some decent pictures. The space up under rear skin is cramped and dark. Would you like me to send pictures to your e-mail?

Hey BA, weren't you one of the few that had the prototype lot-build from another thread (buried somewhere deep in this forum)? If so, I think you could track down the link faster than taking the pictures.
BTW: I'm dying for that particular tow setup. I don't like the Delan design, and I'm not cutting my bumper for any freakin' body. I had planed on autox'ing on 275 V710's this year, but no hitch means I stay with something I can drive to the meets on (150 miles or so). I hate the Potenza RE040 that came stock on my '03 Touring, but after a 5 run battle with a dangerous M3 on comp rubber a couple weeks ago, I clicked in just 0.043 behind him. Last Sunday, armed with the knowledge that I could still win on these things, I throughly wipped a couple of turbo MR2's and an RX8 on Hoosier's and V710's themselves. Now, good course, good training, lots of seat time, and a crazy-as-hell driver I suspect really made the difference.
If you could just figure out a way for us to swap bumpers... I wouldn't have to work nearly as hard.

I want to see pictures of fitting the following in the Z:
4 wheels
Air tank & pressure guage
Torque Wrench
Jack
Camber Guage
Tire Temperature probe
Cooler (they don't have drinks/food at the coarses i go to)
Helmet & shoes
Gas Can (I try to run as low as possible in AutoX)
Misc Tools
And last but not least - the driver
And if you can fit all this without messing up the interior, then my hats off to you. I will go the trailer route. Just finished my trailer, my hitch should be done and installed in about a month. I bought a pre-manufactured one, and will mod it to work on my car (if i remember the hitch cost me $125). Will let everyone know how it goes when I am done.

I've had all of that in my Z, except the air tank (I use a small compressor).
The cooler I used was pretty small, though. Just enough for lunch.
I did that once. Then I wised up and got a trailer.

i can get a..
-jack (goes in the cargo area between the rear shock tower brace and the rear speakers)
-4 wheels (2 in the front seat, 1 in the spare, 1 on the speaker thingy)
-air tank (i haven't done this, but hippie on here has a 1500psi compressed air tank that is very small and easy to store.. planning on doing this set up once i get some money)
-helmet and shoes (helmet in the footwell of the passenger)
-tool box - torque wrench, air gauge, (could fit a tire probe), tools needed to make adjustments (in the footwell along with helmet)
-cooler (space next to spare tire well)
-myself in the car. (well.. i think you get the picture)
i don't really see it messing up the interior. the rear shock tower brace has a few scratches on it frm lifting the wheel over it but that's about it. could have been prevented with painterst tape. i also cut some styrofoam out to make the bottom passenger seat plane level so the wheels dont put any extra strain on the seat.
ofcoures, i have trouble making right turns and switching into right lanes..
also, pdx racer. i found that you have to take the spare tire out initally. but before you close the trunk you can put the spare tire back on top of the wheel and it will close fine!

Why carry a spare tire if you already have a spare set of wheels?
Anyways, I would not want to drive far with all these things in the car. I'm to affraid of being smashed into pulp should I crash/get hit/brake hard...

I thought that there might be enough room to get the spare back in the car, but since I wasn't going *that* far, I thought that I'd try the "four tires in the Z" trick.
The trailer is SOOOOO much better!
Snsitiv350Z,
I think mine pre-dates that group buy. Lateapex was the first person I knew of, that had a design. He assisted me with the fab, as did Drivesolo. It differs from the group buy design only mildly. The ball mount is different and was fabbed by Tork Lift in Kent, WA. The receiver has a "anti-rattle" bolt. It uses eight bolts to hold it to the bumper. It's a sturdy unit.
I took some pictures yesterday and intend to post them. But it might be faster to e-mail them to you. Let me know.
Let my thread return to its current run-a-way state.

I guess I can say that I have the honor (or misfortune) of having the only hitch that works w/ the stock exhuast. It's different from the rest out there; lighter, simple to build but less convenient.
