Default Buying a friends old auto X mods....?

A friend of mine is dropping out of autoX and selling his car. So he's offering me some parts: Tokico gas shocks ( for a G35 though ) with 05' 350z Springs, 350 evo sways, and some 5zigen wheels w/ the new azeinas 245/40/17. First of all are used parts even a good idea? Second while the sways are for Z's what about the shocks? If I remember correctly he said they just have longer travel but can't remember. Right now I'm running in BSP only because of my wheels, I'm usually in the top 10 overall in events ( driving school instead of a bunch of mods.. ) And am getting pretty comfortable with the new setup ( lmgt4's 9.5 all the way around 275/35/18 bfg kdws ) So basicly my car is very lightly modded, I do alright out there just can't afford to put much cash down for parts, is this a good deal with good results or would I be better off continuing to focus on driving and just wait til I can afford new parts etc or get some autoX wheels and tires and move back to BS. Btw car is an 03' 350z.

Take it easy,
Thx in advance.

The Tokico's are longer to match the G's longer travel. Do you have the part #? The G D-Spec shocks are DSP-9 and the Z shocks are DSP-7 I think. I would hope your friend got the DSP-7 to match his springs. I would check with the manufacturer on the application (sorry I don't have the phone # handy) because you may end up banging on the bump stops running the 9's with those shorter Z springs. Otherwise, cranking up the adjustable damping will help in slowing body pitch & roll in quick transitions. You'll want the sway bars more than the shocks but the combination will be a noticable and significant upgrade.
