ps. everyone listen to mike's car.. that Ti exhaust is DIRTY!
Mike did run his street tires, but his rims were 9.5" in the rear
I believe his fastest was 48.8 so my 50.2 isn't too bad bone stock. Yes, his Ti exhaust is incredible, we are working on mine next. I won't be getting the $2600 Ohlins suspension (that also took about 40 manhours) because, well, it's $2600. lolI appreciate the knowledge gained here, I was unaware of the trim levels, their discrepancies, and their advantages/disadvantages in autox. Now, one last question: In BS @ Nationals, what trim were the top 5 finishing 350z's???

Matter of fact not sure there were even 5 there. Chris was the best of the Z boys at Natls in his enthusiast back in 10th place.

From what I can remember:
10th Hammon Ent 275-40-17 V710
12th C. Thompson Track 245-35-18 V710
16th Dohrman not sure but I think he was on 17"s
17th Hohl co-drove with Hammon
19th J. Thompson Track
24th Quinonez Automatic trans with touring pkg I think. 245-45-17 v710 Had he got some clean runs he had times good enough for about 14th with an AUTOMATIC.
Not sure what happen but day one first runs Carter Thompson was right at the top with a pair of great runs, but as the course got better on 3rd runs most of us found lots of time he found cones. He did not seem to find the speed on the 2nd day.
Hohl had been the fastest Z boy most of last year but coned every run the first day which left him out the group.
Hammon seemed to have good drives both days. I don't think the South course was great for the Z as there were a lot of sweepers which left them one leggin. So if you were not near the top on the north course you just got further behind on the south.

HAMMOND
not hammon or hammonds
I didn't find myself driving well either day, so a 10th place for me was satisfactory, even though it was 1 out of trophies. Carter would of had 10th I believe, but hit a cone AFTER the finish on his last run on the south course, he had leaned over to turn his radio on to hear his time.

At this time, I merely lack the initial knowledge about autox'ing a 350Z. FYI, I had an undefeated title winning season in STS in the SCR region the same year I was the CCR champion in the same class. And now, I'm trying to get set up to make a run next year hopefully in the STU2 class, and compete against Mike Bright.

page 4 will give you most of the differences.
do you think stu2 will become a reality? seems like someone in the ODR region tried to run a 350 in STU for a year in 03 i think and it didn't work out.. but some thought the car would do well in this type of class. what other cars would go into stu2? a vette? any 2-seater, high hp, 3klbs-ish car? what would the tire limitations be? 275? wheel size?
also, STU modifications are kind of similiar to some BSP mods.. but not totally as you probably know. i just meant, for ex. rankins runs his car in BSP sometimes. why don't you go ahead and set your car up, under stu regulations, and run BSP for now, then when STU2 comes along your car can transfer over?

Am I to assume that the RX8 took the cookies? Or was this previous to the S2000 leaving? I was out of the autox game for two seasons.

What are the weight differences between the trims on the 350's? And which ones have LSD's stock?
The only real gripe here is the LSD. As an x-sentra driver, I know that the LSD in the Spec-V is the difference-maker in sending it to STX and the base SE-R to STS. I would have thought something similar with the Z

The base is the only one without an LSD. I think an LSD is cruical in this car, however.
The top honors were given to ULLOSE, in an rx8. Also in the top 5 was the Hui 968, which is also for sale.

you can't. i havent talked to him lately, but i assume he didn't want to waste his new a6's on a non-points event so just used his street wheels. there really isn't much of a BS around here other than him and chuck, so i'm sure nobody really cared. i know i wouldn't.
