Default Sensor logging

Has anyone successfully accessed any of the onboard sensors for logging? I'm thinking specifically of steering angle, throttle position, and brake pressure. Even fancier would be oil temp/pressure, water temp, wheel speed, yaw.

Getting a logger and mad as hell that I paid a bunch of money for a rolling sensor platform only to have to pay more money to buy sensors to log this stuff.

BTW I'm talking about the sensors themselves, not interested (at this point) in OBDII or CAN.

I have the service manual for reference, and have started doing research. Thanks in advance.

Maybe I should be more specific:

I'm buying a DL1 that has some 0-12 V and 0-5 V analog inputs as well as some digital speed inputs.

I'd like to measure throttle position, steering angle, and brake pressure with the box. Steering angle and throttle position are sensed by the car already, more than likely with a 0-5 V sensor. I'm not sure about brake pressure, I think that there's a brake flag and then the ABS uses differential wheel speeds to do its stuff. In other words, it doesn't care how hard you're stomping the brake, as long as it's on, ABS is working. I, however, do care how hard I'm stomping the brake, so it looks like this will be the one sensor I'll have to buy.

Anyhow, I'm looking at how to use these nice sensors with my logger. Thanks in advance.

I've looked into it.

The VDC seems to be running completely on the CAN system. Good luck getting a signal that makes sense from that!

I'll probably grow some ***** and splice my harness so I at least get the RPM.

Frustrating, because ALL the sensors we need are already on the car...

Tell me about it. I'm pretty sure that the throttle position outputs a voltage. With the high-impedance inputs on the logger, I should be able to log this. I haven't yet found the info on the steering angle sensor, other than the harness it plugs into. It's even one of those sensors that doesn't have the star beside it that says "DON'T UNPLUG HARNESS UNDER PENALTY OF DEATH."
