Default Speed Ventures 12+ hours of Sebring March 29(sat) & 30(sun)

Speed Ventures 12+ hours of Sebring March 29(sat) & 30(sun)

Run with us on our two-day Sebring event March 29th and 30th, 2 weeks after the 12 hours of Sebring. We will be running the same 3.7 mile, 12-hours course, and each run group will have 4+ hours of time on course (4+ hours x 3 run groups = our 12+ hours).

The oldest and most famous track in continuous use in America, Sebring is the legendary site of some of the greatest moments ever to take place in racing history. Moments such as Stirling Moss' 1954 upset win, the first ever Formula 1 race on American soil, and Dan Gurney's attempt to push his car across the finish line for the win.

Convertibles with factory rollbars are allowed for this event.

Registration is open online: http://www.speedventures.net/4-29-2003_event.asp

About Speed Ventures:

Speed Ventures is a joint venture between Wurth Motorsports Corporation and Bitterman Time Trials, Inc. Together, we organized many successful track events in the Western United States in 2000 & 2001. In 2003 we are hosting 22 events (42 Track Days) all over the USA, including a number of world famous tracks (http://www.speedventures.net/2003_Schedule.asp). In 2003 we continue our goal of providing a safe, fun environment to learn the limits of your car and improve your driving abilities. We offer instruction in race-driving technique, AMB timing, and an opportunity to affordably live your dream of driving on a real racetrack.

Our mission is quite simply to provide more track time for less money than any other track organization. We work to make our events run smoothly and professionally, with safety as a driving concern, and limit registration to keep traffic to a minimum. At a typical event, we will put 30% fewer cars on the track and offer 66% more track time than our competitors.

I am here and live close enough, I was considering an event on the same weekend at Moroso but Sebring would definelty be cool.

How much track time on the first day for a Novice? Would it be safe to assume that if we stay for the second day we would move out of novice?

How much brake needed to make it through 1 and 2 days?

I haven't driven there so I can't say how much brake pad you will need.

As for amount of track time you'll get 5 - 30 minute sessions per day and it's no problem switching groups between the 2 days.

Hope you can make it. (And other Z Owners). I'm Registered for Sebring. I plan to learn some driving techniques and have a blast. A good time to create 'base' timing for my stock Z, then maybe make some improvments.

To try to get you over to run with us, I can offer you free transponder rentail if you come join us.

Same goes to anyone here. While transponders last free timing ($40/day value) to anyone that mentions this post.

OK I talked to the other guy that is going with me and we decided toopt for Sebring so save us the transponders, he will be singing up for two days and I need to decide but it will be at least for one day (Saturday). His name is Rick Sleeper and mine is Gus Martinez.

quick note on the free timing, it's only for the first 30 timing sign ups (still plenty of room).

Did you say you wanted timing when you registered? If not email events@speedventures.net and let john know so he can mark it as such in the DB.

See you there!

Yes we both did and John acknowledged thanks.

Looking forward to it, what are you going to limit the group to in number of participants? I guess I should have asked that first.

Right now the event is soooo under sold there will be maybe 10-15 people per group. We would not exceed 30 cars per group.

But right now its very unlikely that we will hit the 90 car total.

Well, sort of North East: Mosport and Road America are on the schedule this year. See the whole schedule at our site: http://www.speedventures.net/2003_Schedule.asp

So, Gus, anyone, how was Sebring? I heard from some S2000 owners who mentioned the "350Z guys were very cool"

Oh Man it was a blast!!!!! And the S2000 guys were very cools as well and very nice to us newbies. That track is awesome and Aaron and Rylan were great as well. It is the most fun I have had in a while and can't wait until you guys come back in June, I will have extra pads and rotors in hand so I can lay into it next time. It is so great to se yourself improve dutring the day and see how you are loosing time or could gain. It was a lot of fun, if people buy this kind of car and don;t do these type of events they are wasting the car. It has so much potential it is going to be fun trying to get good at it.

Westpak: Glad to hear it! People fail to realize how useful timing is, figuring until they're really experienced they don't need it, but it makes a big difference having it, don't you think?

Very cool. We're seeing more and more 350z's at the track, and I think it's about time to get a classing system down for them for a 350Z challenge series. Don't know if you're familiar with the idea, but check out this page for more info: http://www.speedventures.net/Challenge_series.asp

Anyway, let me know what you think. We're going to need input from you guys to get it figured out.
