This weekend i drove out to Fire Bird from San Diego to test our new air splitter/air dam system on our sponsored drivers car Steve Mott. Since we only recently completed the molds, there was not much time before his Redlime Time Attack event next weekend. So i did the drive out to AZ. to work out any possible bugs. The setup exceeded our expectations, and worked like a magnet, holding and controlling the front of the car. Several passes were made exceeding 130mph without any issues. We will post more info after we return from Button Willow. If Steve reads this posting, he might discuss his testing results further on the setup. These are the test parts pictured on his car. The airdam is 100%CF, and the splitter is CF bonded with aluminum honeycomb core, and a layer of kevlar underneath. All parts are vacuum infused. Total weight was approx 6lb's. If you know Steve, wish him luck in his class next weekend!

Yes we will actually begin production next week after the Redline event. Release
is January. More parts under development for both the Z and G in the next couple months. Race hoods, doors, rear hatches. These are track specific parts developed for strength and weight reduction. Serious weight reduction

The splitter/air dam combo worked great. The car felt better than it ever has at that track. I had been having some balance issues with the addition of the wing and needed more front end downforce (i.e., I was having some understeer). I think this fills the bill. The car tracked great through the fast turns. We will be trying some slightly different dimensions on the next prototype to see what if any difference it makes. Bottom line though, is that it WORKS! ![Smilie](https://my350z.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Thanks again to Mike from Kogntion for making the drive out to Phoenix this past weekend. But the test session was worth it. It's real world testing like this that separates the "real deal" parts from the just "looks good" parts.
Can't wait to use it at the Redline Time Attack this coming weekend!

You are losing a small amount of ground clearance. I can't remember at the moment exactly what it is. But Steve's car sits pretty low right now, and from the ground to the bottom of the air splitter measures a 3 inch clearance. As far as price, i have to go thru that this month. Thank you guys for the posotive feedback. : )

The splitter and air dam sits slightly lower (maybe a half inch more or less?) than the normal small black plastic air dam that comes on the car (as on the 2003 Track model), since the whole splitter goes under the car another foot plus without hitting anything. The trailing edge of the splitter blends nicely with the plastic under body piece, essentially creating a VERY long flat panel under the front of the car.

Price is not bad at all. Looks to be a very quality piece. Nice work. That Z looks like it is creating some downforce

This isn't a mass market part, but a full racing part. These are made the way aircraft parts are made. I'm afraid you wont be seeing discounted prices on these parts. And we are allready backordered as it is. But you are getting a great value for what it is and does. At over 100mph, you will see about 450lbs of downforce. So we will be stepping up production a bit early. And we need to restock our drivers after this weekends racing. The below pic shows damage after the entire splitter and air dam was ripped off and completely driven over this weekend. He (Steve Mott) ran it for the remainder of the weekend. It was pretty hardcore to see it ripped off and driven over! RobiSpec was so impressed, that we will be producing parts for them for their Evo customers next month.
