Default Laguna Seca - Wed Jan 31 '07

Laguna Seca here we come...AGAIN!!!

Come on out to Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca with Leadfoot Adventures on Wed January 31, 2007 for another great track day at this world-famous road course! Leadfoot Adventures is known for their low cost - high value events, and this one is no exception. The cost is only $279 until the end of this year, and registration is now open at MotorsportReg.com. This event is expected to fill up quickly since Laguna events are really hard to get into and usually cost over $300 (sometimes way more than that!)

As always, breakfast in the morning and bottled water all day are included at no extra charge, and this time we're springing for lunch too. All drivers are welcome to attend the morning classroom session as well as the instructional novice and intermediate download sessions throughout the day. Each driver will receive at least 4 run sessions and the maximum we'll allow on track at any one time is only 25 cars!

See ya at the track!

Laguna Seca is absolutely fantastic. I need to see if I can have the car ready to go by then. Business trip in Phoenix the week before, so it might be dicey timing wise, but I definitely am going to try. Thanks for putting this on.

We've nailed down a nice discount at the Laurel Inn in Salinas, CA. For those that need/want to stay overnight, they've given us a rate of $59/night. To reserve your room, here's the hotel info:

Laurel Inn
801 West Laurel Drive
Salinas, California 93906
Phone: (831) 449-2474

Tell them you are with Leadfoot Adventures.

Is there anyway to see who has signed up and what types of cars? If not no prob. I'm still trying to figure out a way to make the event. Was supposed to go on Honeymoon that week. lolz. hmmm, decisions decisions.

My track wheels finally came in so just gonna get tires and see what this car can do.

lolz. That's funny. Most definitely I would pick the wife over laguna, especially for an event such as our honeymoon. We're still trying to figure out if we can get that whole week off of work, we might just drive somewhere next week. So there are some logistical issues we're figuring out. If it doesn't happen i'm definitely gonna shoot up to this. Laguna is only 1.5hrs from me. But thank you for the sane advice. You've helped to keep me focussed. hehe.

The hardest thing to appreciate on video games, and on film or video when taken from the car itself, is the extraordinary elevation changes involved in running at Laguna Seca. There is a huge climb up from Turn 5 all the way to the top at Turn 8. The corkscrew then drops you a few feet, you build up speed in a short squirt to the turn in at Turn 9, and then the bottom drops out and you hurtle down a huge incline all the way down the hill and through Turn 10 to get back to the bottom. Massive acceleration and control challenge because the inertial momentum makes the apex point on the Turn 9 critical...if you are too early you will risk running out of track on the right.

I always love to hear when Stance coilovers are raved about after a track day...March will not get here soon enough (that is when most of the OR track groups start up)...
