went for 18s to 19s and car feels sloppy

I went from the stock track wheels with 225s and 245s(re040) to the ce28s in 19, 9.5(255.35) and 10.5(285.35) with a toyo t1r and had the car aligned again. The car feels really sloppy in the front now, kinda drifts a lot and it seems like the back take a bit to follow the front, i will turn and a sec later the back feels like it follows around and then maybe goes too far. Any suggestions?
Is it just the tires or the bigger wheels that did this. I didn't get the printout of my alignment this time but if anyone has any suggestions on the specs for the alignment that would help.

Its definitely the Toyo T1-R's. They are very stretchy feeling and you pretty much hit it dead on with your description. Our stock tires have one hell of a sidewall in comparison. You'll just have to get used to it...

Oh that sucks, it feels unstable to me. I'm so pi$$ed now...i knew i didn't want these tires.
What tires do you like that don't do this. I personally like the goodyear gs d3s but the toyos were cheaper and i didn't realize they would be like this, how can all the guys on here live with this crap.
edit: Continental ContiSportContact 2 any good? I have noticed that tye are coming on some higher end soprts/exotic cars.

I love how the stock Bridgestones re040 felt in the dry through corners. I will only be purchasing better Bridgestones from here on out. I hear that BF-Goodrich kwd2's are good. People either love or hate the Toyo's; they are just common bc most places carry them or can get them quickly..
Michelin PS2's or Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions.
From the comments I've seen here - the Toyo's are popular because they are cheap and ride good on the street. That smoother ride comes from a sidewall that is less stiff than the OEM Potenzas. The soft sidewall sucks for "performance" driving.

What you describe sounds more like an alignment problem than a tire problem. I need more information on your alignment and what is happening when you are driving to make an educated guess. Like when you brake hard in a striaght line - does the car pull one way or the other? When you hit the power in a straight line - do you have to turn the wheel to keep it straight?
One question - why did you buy 19" wheels and then post this in the autox/road racing forum? Since for performance (like we are trying to find in this forum) the maximum size you want to go is 18" wheels.

Well...i figured you guys would know more about my problem since you drive agressively more so than the non-racers. I understand that a 19 is definately not a performance setup but i didn't expect it to make my car handle like crap.
It stops and accel. straight. Besides what i said up top, the only thing i have noticed is a slight pull/drift to the right, very minimal but i notice it.

You will hear this only from people that make 90 deg. turns at >30mph
Everyone else will bash the OEM tires.
The majority will judge grip of the tire by accelleration and rain/hydroplaning... and actual slipage through a corner, not so much by cornering stability and turn in feel. So the majority will like the toyos...
I went through the same experience and luckily was able to exchange the tires at around 300 miles.

Although the PS2 are much better, and also handle road track (except getting greasy), I still miss the cornering feel of the OEM tires, I think they were stiffer than the PS2's.
The S03 are famous for similar cornering handling, but are heavy and I think outdated, they don't make them anymore?

Since when do tires settle in? If anything the consumer will end up settling in and getting used to them. I'm on my second set of Toyos and its the same as it was the first time. I'm really upset with myself for getting the same tires, but they are the only ones that are readily available. Oh well at least they are great in the rain.....

I never had a set of stock tires long enough to fairly evaluate them, but I am really content with my Falken Azenis ST115's. I also had a set on my EVO on those stock rims, and they worked great!

Ha, i am running 34/36 now but had it up to 44 and it still didn't feel better. I didn't get a chance to throw it on the rack yesterday b/c my friend was busy...hopefully they will get a little better with time.

Maybe you’ve never felt the difference between brand new and slightly worn? That would be a credit to your car feeling skill as a driver…
MoodDude’s comment on alignment is not to be overlooked. What are the before/after alignment figures? You might have less toe-in than before.
