Hey Kirkster - You just confirmed for me what I have seen about the Lotus Elise . . . that it can compete against high-powered sports cars in auto-x. But like most of us already know, it still comes down to the "nuts" behind the wheel.

Ya, saw that video. Very good driver. When I drove the elise, I found it very confidence inspiring (lightweight and read road well) However, I wasn't able to track it, and don't know if the confidence carries through at higher speeds. However, I wish the 350 could read the road as well. Maybe it can with the right tuning? But, yes, it's all about the confidence for me. I do love the stability of the 350.

"They've" built one with the 340hp V8 from an Audi RS4 on the old continent...

I've seen a couple of supercharged Elises too.

there's a company that puts supercharged honda engines in elises with 300 hp and does 1/4 mile in 12 seconds

I have messed with quite a few Elises at the track here in VA. I have never been passed by one and the only one that really put up a fight for a couple of laps was a Exige driven by a HPDE instructor.

In the tighter sections he would pull slightly, but on sweepers and high speed turns we were even. I was suprpised when I kept with him in the brake zones and eventually it was a long straight away that did him in.

Once into 4th gear I pulled him and then he gave me the point by. They seem to run out of breath at those speeds. I was on 275 Azenis, with basic suspension and bolt on mods, so yeah it is do-able with a midely modded Z even on street tires.

275's all around, or on rear? How is the aftermarket suspension for the 350? Can you feel the road better? Gain confidence? Does the car follow the bumps instead of crashing into them? All help appreciated.

No, it's 150. Probably just takes longer to get there. 0-60 is 4.7-4.9 though.

Great video.

Theres a few guys that have swapped k20a's into their elise's and slapped a Jackson racing supercharger on them. Here's a dyno of one of them.. this dyno's supposed to read 8-10% higher than a dynojet.

Hey, pedroosan, was this at PIR and a blue Elise, by chance?

Yes at PIR, but no it was a very dark colored elise (black or dark green).

The other time there were 2 elises but I think they came down from Canada and they were orange.

Hey skidmarq looking forward to meeting you next season at PIR! So far I was always the only Z.

I'd still take the elise over a truck, no matter how fast it may be. It'd be a good race though. I think their 0-60 would be even, and even though the truck has more power, it's still a brick aerodynamically. What's the purpose of a fast truck anyways?

And I guess he can haul logs too. Just tell him not to corner!

For the record, while on the elise test drive, I killed an M3 'til we shut down at speeds I don't care to discuss.
