My starter motor is slowly fading on me. My trusted local Z shop said that the heat from tracking probably did it in. Just curious if anyone else has had this problem?
Pep Boys can get it for less than half of what Nissan wants. The Pep Boys one is supposedly a nissan unit and carries a lifetime warranty.

 

So what's the question? I've never had any issues with the starter.....but if Pep Boys can get you the same part, cheaper, with a warranty.......no brainer

 

Question is if anyone other people who track their car have destroyed their starter motor, and if a Pep Boys starter is worth getting.

 

I haven't heard of that before, nor have I experienced it and my car is a heat monster.

 

Im many time in situations where staters/Alts go out. If its run of the mill , I go to Napa, If its a Ball buster, I take it to my VERY good rebuilder. Call around and find a small shop that has been around for awhile and have them do it ---Pep Boys/Auto Zone Starters/alts really suck

Life time guarantee you say ??? Well, they know dam well that many wont use that guarantee---Its a selling gimick, having no bearing on the Quality

Wrap ur new starter if it turns out to be a heat prob
