RE: 350Z's Racing in South African Production Car Series
Here is a link to the South African Production Car Series. Nissan has a 3 car Factory team running 350Z's and a number of privateers are also running the cars. Check out the downloads section for some racing action from their Durban street race (lots of bent sheet metal!).
Very cool series, all races are televised nationally in SA. Cars are prepared to rules somewhere between my SCCA T2 car and a GrandAm car (closer to a T2 car). All cars run on Bridgestone racing slicks (true slicks and not DOT-R tires). There are weight penalties for win's and top finishes to keep any one car or driver from dominating. The series runs 4 classes, class A being the top class with the 350Z's, and factory teams from BMW (330i), Audi (A4 Quattro) and Subaru (STI) also in class A. Nissan driver Gary Formato won overall last year (2006) and I believe he is narowly leading the championship this year.
