I haven't been doing too horrible. Was up in NYC for the greater part of my summer working. Getting ready to head back down to WS next week. I still have the 350z. Can't really choose which is the direction I want to go next. I just want something with 2 more seats. Ha.

So when are you back to WS? Will you come to the 24 hour event in Charlotte?
wow - nice set-up! I know PDX_Racer is running 285's on the OE 18X8" wheels, and now to see a 275 on a 17X7.5 ... very nice!
Btw - what offset is you front rims? (I'm starting to think about tires for next yr and am wondering if I'll be able to fit a 285 up front)

Can't tell from the pic?
they are +33 all around. Within the SCCA Stock rules. (+-6mm from stock)
285s at most may need a small spacer (BS legal), depending on if you are using a stock wheel or an aftermarket wheel.
i've got some busted 245s on 7.5 and 275s on 8s at my house in WS so i'll snap some of those and post them in here also. A staggered set up just is not meant for this car. The car does not rotate as well and is not as nearly as neutral as a 4 245, 275, or 285 set up (haven't actually tried a 285 set up personally, all this being said if the car is on BS legal suspension modifications).
Fluid - Don't know when/where the 24hr event is, but pending how my work load is I'll judge from there. I am coming back on the 21st. Just bought some new street tires a little while back and don't feel like tearing them up especially if I'm going to be selling it soon. Speedfed will be interesting, I expect a lot of ricers to show up (I'm not going) but I wish you luck. You and Tom should have a great time running against each other. Gluck on the prize $!
oh and to those who were wondering how much for the enthusiast wheels.. 250+ ship!

The 24 hour is on Sept 1st noon - Sept 2nd at noon....at Continental in Charlotte. Hop over to the ccrscca forum, the info's on there.
Of course, if you don't want to run in your car, you can take a few in mine....I'll be running both on the Azenis and on the Kuhmos. Unlimited runs FTW!

I'll see what I'm up to that weekend. That's the weekend right after school starts and the parties should be pretty good.

Are 350zs not in TTD? are they TTC?
PS. the pressures we saw in the 17" 275 set up for the v710s were around 32-29. Just to give you a baseline. 35 seems too high to get maximum contact area.

I run BSP, so my rims are 17X8.5 +22 ... sounds like as long as I won't rub on the outside fender, I should be able to get at least a 285 up front. I'm thinking of maybe a 295 in the rear if I decided to roll my fenders.

But if I do come, I'll take you up on that offer

I think you'll be fine regardless with that setup.
Shoot a PM to Hippie, he's the wheel clearance man!

I know I don't rub on the fron springs...but last time I changed wheels, I noticed some rubber marks on the upper A-arm ...the tires looked fine, so I'm wondering if it's just from the extra rubber fly'n off the tires when they get too hot.

You try and wash it off? If it was a tire rubbing, you should be able to tell the difference based on directional rotation.
Okay, finally saw the pics . . . I guess my 275s on 17x8s are not as bulgy after seeing your 275s on 17x7.5 rims. The tire brand also has something to do with the shape of the sidewalls. My Hankook Z211s are more "squared" so it's not as rounded as your V710s.
Also, what is the PSI that you are using to obtain the optimum contact patch? I'm at 40psi front & 38psi rear. I've been thinking about lowering it to find out if I can get more grip, especially in the rear.

I honestly have no freaking clue. The pics I posted are ones I took between the time I said pics were posted, and when they actually were posted.
Tomorrow I will be testing them out at the SpeedFed Nationals, I'll let you know. I've heard it should take a couple events to wear the tires to the point that I can effectively use the largest available contact patch.

Is that a camera mount on the car in the bottom picture?
