after driving around for a while with the plastic gone,

i've noticed that my water temperatures have dropped ~ 15 degrees during normal driving conditions and when i'm on boost and revving hard and then driving normal, the water temps do seem to drop faster.

however, as soon as i got the plastic back on (to wash the car) i noticed that the water temps do in deed go back up.

using my CMX-100 thats plugged into the OBD2 port-
w/o plastic. water temps of around 180-205*F, oil temps around 195-205
w/ plastic water temps were around 195-210*F,oil temps the same 195-205

note: i do have a setrab oil cooler and a vented hood up near behind the raditor.

attempt #2 will be to use hood spacers at the hinges to see how much a difference the "drifter" mod will have..

attempt #3 will to be making a gurney flap at the trailing edge of the hood, as to try to change the pressure around where the windshield meets the hood...

this is using my stock radiator, i have not upgraded to a thicker core yet..

As was mentioned, your results are due to air flowing back into the engine bay from the base of the windshield area. This will work OK at low speed, but once you really start moving air, you will find that the higher pressure in the engine bay will cause front end lift as air also leaves the engine bay out the BOTTOM of the car...
