did you have to cut the bumper to mount it?

I found out some details from him on the phone. Basically he just had to drill 4 holes in the metal bumper and mount it. He hasn't done any wiring yet and plans too soon. I am sure he had to cut a small piece of the bumper at the bottom. I didn't ask him about that.

Does it require rewelding of the bumper supports, as was recommended for roark's hitch?

I'd like to see pics, too, and hear more about what the installation was like.

And what trailer are you using?

If it just coonects to the bumper reinforcement, then YES, you will want to get those bumper reinforcement brackets seam-welded.

It just bolted to the bumper support with 4 HUGE bolts. I did have to trim the bumper 1 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches. It is very unnoticable and looks great. I will try to take pics later today to show you how it looks.

The Nissan Tech manual is very handy to get all the bumper clips.

Once that is off, it's a simple matter of drilling the bumper and bolting the hitch.

I have the Curt Mfg hitch. No cutting of the bumper necessary.

They say cutting is required, but it's not.

Thanks a lot, I would also love to see some pictures. I currently run Tire class for a few reasons, one of the bigger ones being transportation of race wheels/tires.

Regards

Which one is it? Nothing comes up for a Nissan 350Z. I found two that are both $121.88 when I searched for 'Curt' on etrailers.com I have to admit I may not have seen every page they had for curt trailers, but I looked at at least the first 15-18 pages. The two that were 121.88 were on the second page, iirc.

I have the eTrailer hitch installed and it is a very sturdy hitch. I had to cut a small portion of the bumper (1" x1 1/2") but it's not even noticeable. I have pictures posted on the other trailer threads floating around in this forum.
