I think I was getting tunnel vision just watching the video.

What was the tire to run in street class? RT615's? AD07's?

I love the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A in Street Class. After we popped the one, I borrowed Eagle1's Yokohama street tires and they werent as good.

You should give the RE-01R a try... I just started running these on my STI and they are fantastic street tire!

Too bad you couldn't make it out with Kuah this time.
Hey Scott, the compliment was directed at you both. Sorry for not including you specifically!
It does suck that I couldn't make it. I've been scouring the net for pics, vids and stories from the event-just not the same as being there in person.
Congrats again.

Out of curiosity what sizes were you running? Isn't Ed's Yokohama the Yokohama Sports, the ES100 replacements...

Philthy - I don't think the RE01Rs came in the sizes we wanted. Otherwise we may just give them a try. They have the same 140 treadwear rating as the RE050s though so I don't know how much better they would be.

Nihilation - On the Bridgestones we run a 285/30/18 up front and 295/30/18 rear. Ed's Yokos are the same size up front, but a 315/30/18 in the rear, which is better size wise, but they are a 180 treadwear tire as opposed to the 140 treadwear Bridgestones. I don't know exactly which Yokos they are, it was our only option to be able to run street class so I wasn't picky .

Yes they were. Advan Sport in 285/18F and 315/18R. I put them on the Enkei NTO3+M wheels. The compound is just enough harder that even though the size is bigger, the grip was not there compared to the 295R that Mike was running with the Bridgestones with the softer compound. He can tell you what the comparative treadwear ratings by the manufacturers is (bearing in mind that such ratings are somewhat imprecise). The Yoko is a very good tire, but for this purpose of getting the softest you can while still meeting the sponsor's rules for the event, it is not the best match you can make on our cars. The "stones" are softer.

Great tire but weighs a lot. Of coarse with the HP you hve probably not a big issue.

That is a very excellent point you make. If there is a Toyo/Nitto tire or a Michelin tire that would suit the size and compound combination of factors that would be a big consideration, because both of them use a manufacturing approach that results in the tire being about 3lbs lighter....and 12lbs of unsprung weight is a lot.

With all my researching of street class tires (140 TW and up) being as close to 140 treadware as possible without going below, I have found the Bridgestone to be the best choice given the sizes that we run. The Yokohamas being the second best.

SinCity350z or Scott: I have some questions if you 2 dont mind.

Do you have the Stance GR+ right now? So with the new rollcage, chassis is right now super stiff that the Stance are comparably soft and makes the car roll alot (I understand there will be alot of reason for this too)? What setup are you going with next?

I found some pictures on another forum which I have saved on my HD now and hosted on my photobucket

I LOVE action pics! saved pics of your car on my HD

Thanks for the pic Paulie!

To answer your question, we are going to try doing some custom springs for the Stances next. We are thinking probably 100 lbs. stiffer all around and then a stiffer sway bar may work. If we have to go more than 100 lbs. on the springs, we will have to re-evaluate the situation as anything more than 100 lbs. stiffer will be out of the range for the Stance dampners.

The 050 PP tires you run have a lot smaller overall diameter (24.7" F and 24.9" R) than the oem sizes, of 25.9" F and 26.7" R. No issues with that? How about Falken Azenis RT-615 275/35/18 at 25.6" OAD Fr. and 315/30/18 25.6" OAD Rr?

These are split pictures, so they're not in the road/autox forum. Here are some contributions from my camera though:
