Where is the sub-belt?

Anybody ever seen someone or know of someone who hit a wall without a sub belt?

From personal observation it is very nasty.

During an accident, the cam lock, where the lap and shoulder harness buckles into it, is not held in place with the sub-belt. The body moves towards the foot well, because of no sub-belt and the cam lock with the lap and shoulder belts then moves up into the abdomen area and depending on the force of the impact can crush internal organs and break ribs.

Some times it ends up the lap belt and harness belt kept them in the car only to be kill by it.

This does not happen as bad in a standard OEM belt setup because the buckle is on the side.

From my experience the individual spent some quality time in the hospital. Not too sure what their quality of life is like, but I understand they are alive.

See it once and you take this stuff seriously.

I would never let a customer leave my shop with only a 4pt harness unless they sign a waiver. 5pt or 6pt is the minimum.

Gotcha...although the stock seat really isn't made to use any sub belts.

Too high-up for my tastes... in a rearward impact, if there's too much deflection in the seatback, or it fails completely, your head will impact the bar. Even with, but ESPECIALLY without a helmet on (street driving) this is NOT a good thing.

It does look a lot more substantial then the BCR bar, which is a good thing... but you'd still be better of getting some fixed back seats w/ back braces.

I also agree with the concern of harnesses w/o roll over protection, but I'm even more concerned with the more common rear-ward impacts I've seen.

Oh yeah... don't forget that putting a sub strap over the front of the seat doesn't do you any good.
