Default 07 vs 03-06

Are the 07 cars faster on the track than the 03-06? I know the 07 have more power, but they are also heavier. Is it worth it or no? I would think the 07 is faster overall, but does it drive better too or do you have to fight it every way to get the speed.

I would think they are. I don't think they are THAT much heavier than the previous models and their stronger, longer powerband I would think makes them faster.

Probably have to wait for the "magazine racers" to publish some of their official stats though to really tell.

The new HR engine seems like a great power plant. Just for that, you should trade your Z for one !

Get a base and put some larger brakes this time around

At least on the drag strip, they are quicker, both ET and MPH. I'm sure this will translate to faster lap times if the rest of the car is mostly unchanged. Brakes are the same as the 06' model.

There are some threads about it already, even with some dyno charts from forged performance...

I have a base 07 and love it. However, I've never driven any other year Z. Can someone who has driven both (07 and 03-06) chime in? I'd like to know if someone with a Touring or GT 03-06 would be willing to trade theirs in for a 07 base?

*I'm not asking because I'm soliciting or anything...just curious to know how much of a "pull-factor" the HR has...as in would someone be willing to trade brembo, leather, bose, etc. for a base HR?

My stock 07 is considerably quicker than stock 03-06 G35's and 350z's. It's still slightly quicker than a few of my coworker's lightly modded up G35's and 350z's too.
