not sure if anyone on here has been following the progress on this but High Rock, NC is the newest location for the first road course in NC. From what I have gathered there was some slight resistance from a few people in the area however they have crossed that bridge and should be starting before long. The High Rock Raceway plans look like it should be a great time!!!

haha, yeah i had heard that. but I have some close ties with VIR so I never asked questions or wanted to know the truth. I read the letters back and forth but never took any sides. I am all for a new track but at the same time my heart is always with VIR. family friends with a co-owner and several family friends work at vir so i have to always stand behind them. I live almost exactly dead center between the two. I cannot wait!!!!
how cool would it be to start seeing formula one cars coming to NC/VA??? I mean AMA is already here (this weekend I think). Bring in Formula one and I will never be home on the weekends

yea,
We have been in touch with the builders for a while now and have two dates for when the track opens. They have been very good on keeping us updated on what's going on, and we have tried to be supportive in their legal struggle.

one of the reasons i started a thread about moving to charlotte. i also did a bit of research in the area and found many other tracks withen 4 hours drive. plan is to still move to charlotte once my lease expires and save up for a condo there.

i'd move to Greensboro. It is equal distance from there, still close to other tracks, and a fraction of the outrageous cost of living in charlotte. coming from cali, however you may not think it cost to much.

no not at all, being able to actually find houses in charlotte in the 100,000 range is DIRT CHEAP. the 1300 sq ft house im renting now is a $2k a month and some consider that a good deal.

If/When you are ready to move, let me know. I have a lot of connections in Charlotte, from realestate to law enforcement.
Thats awesome... good to see another awesome track on the east coast. Theres also a test track supposedly being built near the VA border. Not sure if I've mentioned it before but heres the link http://www.avrc.com/
One of my friends from NC is working on the team thats is responsible for development.
I'm a huge fan of VIR myself and have been considering storing a track car at my parents house in NC just for the east coast tracks. I actually have an extra car at home now that I might ship back to NC after its done.

you could always leave it with me in my garage....i vow to take great care of her and only use it as a back up car at the track

what kind of car is it???VIR has storage along with a couple race shops. also you may want to ck with some local guys about storage. When you coming out this way again?
Just some recent developements on this.
At the Public hearing the ratio for vs against was about 10:1 with a long line outside of the building. The hearing and zoning board have now issued the required conditional permit and construction can begin.

Damn I'm misunderstood sometimes!

I meant that Marty (and others) were actually helping. There were many opposed for a number of years now.
No dates
