check out a VSS for the problem.
That is what I did. The module is plugged in via the harness. When I unplug the harness, the module and ABS pump no longer gets power or any signal from the ecu and/or speed sensors. The ABS control unit becomes a dummy hub for the master cylinder and all brake lines.

What is a VSS? Vehicle service s.....?

Well, just thought I'd write an update. I got the EBCM back from Gavin Curtis of modulemaster.com, and reinstalled the unit. After doing a full flush of the brake system, I turned on the car, and none of the trouble lights went on!!! Whoohooo!!!!

Turn around was 2 days at a cost of just a hair under $200. I'm curious as to what the dealership would have charged me because I sure as hell know they would have recommended a full replacement of the EBCM. Thanks for all those who gave me advice.
